Good luck! I love night photography so I'll be very interested interested to see your results.

Ferk me. first effort and it was far from fun, mainly because of the run of bad luck I had.

Had a right chew on with the tripod, albeit a freebie with the camera it's well fiddly, it was HOT and humid so I was slightly chewed and I "think" I might have ran a red light.... it was a close call.

Oh and I stood in camel shit. great

I'll have a shower and throw a few up

Some nice shots there. I tried to go out the other night but the mosquitoes were unbearable. Looks like I'll have to wait until the colder weather.:-(

Those are excellent shots - I hope mine for the compo come out half as good as them (which they won't ).

Got bored, so decided to find somewhere without much light pollution.

Harder to find than I thought...

Great shots. It's a lot harder than you might think to get away from LP in this country. I sometimes get up to Kielder at new moon, which is about as dark as you can get in England and Wales but you can still see orange glows from Carlisle and Tyne & Wear.

There are some useful maps on the Campaign for Dark Skies website:
