He did well in both jobs had hardly any money to spend. Both clubs spent a fortune after he left but he had peanuts in comparisonDon't think we should be looking at either as our manager, but it appears that's the market we are in
If it was a choice between Clough and McInnes.
I would go for McInnes. He is an unknown quantity that might just come good.
Clough has had big opportunities at Derby and Sheffield and hasn't been up to the job
Why do people take any notice of odds , they change every day
Be very happy with this always done well on a limited budget.

Was also on the 6 man shortlist for manager of the year up with Conte and Pocchetino. Nobody else who is a realistic target would have come close
Has Peter Taylor any sons?
He's done "well" everywhere he's been.He certainly can work on a budget. Derby didn't really work out for him but maintaining Burton in the Championship is pretty impressive all things considered.
Both clubs were shite at the time he improved both clubs without any money as the league finishes prove. Look at where Sheff Utd finished after Clough left.No he didn't he was shite. Sacked by both clubs for failing to do what he was brought in to do.
Did fine with Burton in the conference, struggled to get Sheff Utd to challenge in Div One and was absolutely garbage at Derby in the Championship.

You want someone to take us to mid table mediocrity in the Championship. He's your man
He will if he gets to manage a club that aren't on the verge of gannin bust. Every club he's been at since Burton have been in debt, running at a loss and over paying their players before he turns up.Dunno how old he is but I always get the feeling he will come good at some point.
Talk to a Derby supporter with knowledge of their financial position at the time and they'd disagree. They've been setting the world alight since he left and money's been made available to the subsequent managers haven't they?If you want someone to stop us getting relegated he's your man, but forget promotion regardless of how long we give him.
If people think McInnes is no good because of his time at Bristol City then they need to talk to Derby County supporters.
Awful manager.
They were both on the verge of going under man.Don't think we should be looking at either as our manager, but it appears that's the market we are in

He seems to choose his clubs on the basis of how far the drive home is rather than their financial situation, squad and prospects.

It's free speech to blame marra. Everyone's got an opinion and nowt can stop them voicing it.This is my take on it too. Can see why people do think he's failed at Derby and Sheffield but if you know the story behind the scenes then his record looks a lot better.
Can't see him being daft enough to take us on, but if we really are in the shit financially (I'm sure we are) and we have lots of overpaid, ageing and fairly disinterested players on the books (errrrr we certainly do) then it would be a very similar situation to him taking over at Derby back in 2009. He's always said his biggest achievement in management was keeping Derby up the first season he went there ("there was a real whiff of relegation about the place" or words to that effect).....
He had some hits, so I'd be happy, if he should be appointed, if Clough is as equivalently successful in terms of football. It'd be like starting a band with Julian Lennon
No approach made apparently.

Also says in there we are going to interview McInnes next week. First time I've seen any official acknowledgment of it in any paper.

I don't Like the fact skybet and sky sports are the same company. Potential to be a conflict of interest there.
