Can imagine it plays a huge part. Vaguely remember the Patriots f***ing around with Brady's contract so it didn't hit the cap anywhere near as much as it should
The Patriots were merciless with it, routinely got rid of star performers rather than give them a payday

Aye rumours of the Kraft giving money to Brady outside of the contract in the NFL but whether that's true I don't know, maybe Brady was just that obsessed about winning he was willing to give up some money.

Not sure how their specific salary cap is structured but all that stuff is integral to creating a team and what makes building a dynasty really hard
Tyreek Hill would still be at the Chiefs if not the for the wage cap for example, part of why I like the NFL it isn't about which club has the most money.
 
Can see the Eagles pisssing it this half. Chiefs have held on by their coattails but will struggle massively this half
