Next Two League Games - Bolton (H), Cheltenham (H)

Six points is obviously the goal, but even two draws would be enough to keep us at the 2ppg mark. We’re in a strong position to kick on and really set ourselves apart with a young team that you’d expect to only get stronger as the season goes on.

Obviously the League Cup game at Wigan on Tuesday before that, but a home double header of Saturday/Tuesday coming next in the league.

Bolton might suit us in the sense that they'll come up here, try to play football and give it a good go.

Anything other than 3 points at home to Cheltenham would obviously be completely unacceptable.

Feels like we're flying through our home games at the moment and we're not yet into October, so very important to keep the wins ticking over in those as promoted teams don't get away with dropping too many points at home over the course of the 23 you get.

So we will have played 6 at home and 3 away. ☹️

Correct.

Mainly because the Sheffield Wednesday game was postponed, but the fact remains.

There's going to be a few rough weeks on the road as we progress through the season so we really need to be racking up points from the likes of this home double-header.

We’ll batter them, note that down now. I wouldn’t want to play us second half of the season, firing on all cylinders.

Again just to highlight we'll actually have over a quarter of our home games for the entire season completed after Cheltenham on Tuesday and we won't even be out of September.

It seems inevitable we're going to have plenty of tough Saturday/Tuesday weeks on the road in the coming months so although it's still early days, we really do need to be racking up the points in these home games.

Even looking at the upcoming fixture list, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sheffield Wednesday game was sandwiched into that October slot so we could have something like the below to face before the November international break:

16th October - Gillingham (A)
19th October - Crewe (A)
23rd October - Charlton (H)
26th/27th October - Sheffield Wednesday (A)
30th October - Rotherham (A)

A double header of Bolton and Cheltenham at home will look like heaven in comparison!

So this appears to have come true, although Sheffield Wednesday is the 2nd November.

An absolutely mental run of away games coming up!

Absolutely, history has shown us, under LJ that one defeat can lead to one of his infamous ' streaky ' inconsistent run of defeats.
It was that which cost us automatic promotion last year.
We lost one earlier this season and haven't lost since so there's yay blarn.
