.....surely everyone must agree that this a brilliant idea? What could be better next season than a full sol for most games with a cracking atmosphere to spur the lads on. Whats more the club will make an absolute bomb from catering/drinks/merchandise. Its been years since the sol has been filled on a regular basis and I for one long for those days when we could welcome teams to the sol and hear the raw as the team came out to that ready to gan song !!! FTM 4EVA
A lot of sense in this.

We may loose some revenue but larger catering contracts and increased sales in merchandise will compensate.

Increase the SOL to 65,000 and do the same.

Where do you think they get there annual £30m worth of gate receipts from then compared to our £10m? By your logic their average season card holder must pay about £2,000 a season
In March 2015, Lee Marshall stated at the fans forum that the Newcastle foundation gave a small number of tickets to primary schools as rewards and prizes.

That's a bit of a silly idea imo.

Just a few quick numbers on this

Based on an average of £3 per ticket (2 adults, 2 kids) for the 16,000 seat increase.

£48,000 per game ticker revenue means that for a rough cost of £15m for the expansion (it may be higher or lower than this) it would take 312.5 games before the building cost is paid back. That's over 15 years and that's assuming

A) you'll sell every ticket
B) no other overheads

Who gives a flying fcuk what you think go to a website who cares.

I can see though why you are peeing yourself though unlike your carbuncle we can extend the SOL fairly easily and if anytime we get a decent team we could easily go to 65,000 with a beautiful stadium.

we wouldn't sell it out even at a fiver a game. people will pay whatever for the occasion. the vast majority of occasions this year will be shit.

youth team on exercise bikes to generate the leccy needed, and recycled canisters from the local laughing gas bagheads for the lager. jobs a good un.

Hilarious.

You still haven't explained your comments that Sunderland shouldn't be encouraging kids to attend games.
I'm not against kids going to games at but offer them tickets for £1 Is asking for trouble. Unsupervised mayhem is what it would be

You're suggesting under 18s should be supervised at football matches and that the club should price tickets to ensure lots don't attend then?

By "small" that probably equates to a few dozen which I would expect every club to do. Our club went way OTT on the dishing out of freebies/discounted tickets which means that even though our crowds are actually up on 10 years ago, the revenue they generate is well down which would make us unique in that respect.

I chucked my SC in 2013 because my workplace gets 40-50 free tickets for every home game which I take advantage off. That's £400 a season they've lost off me and believe me there's plenty more in the same boat.

It's possibly a tactic you can get away with in the PL but in the Championship gate money is crucial and it will hit home this coming season when total gate receipts equate to around £7m for the season or Jack Rodwells salary x2.

No need to get upset because your numbers don't add up and would be financial suicide.

Extend it to 65K all you want, Bob. With your suggested god-awful pricing model you'll still get nowhere near our match day revenue. Which is what matters.

You won't even fill it unless we rock up either.

Some Sunderland fans wouldn't turn up for a free ticket let alone pay a few quid!

People need to get over this notion that cheap tickets will pack the place. Our cup tickets are dirt cheap and even when drawn against PL opposition the place is more than half empty.

Sad sad man. Spends his life trawling a board that no one gives a fcuk about his opinions. Have you ever kissed a woman? You need to get a life!

fuck me! Seems we have a Seaburn Casual OAP in our midst!

You're talking nonesense mate. If you can't afford the 25-38 quid to sit in a co concession end you don't have a job. I agree kids should get in free. I'd be happy with under 16's going free. But to say the price needs a fiver dropping to make it worthwhile is nonesense. If you can afford entertainment for a fiver less then you can afford it at the going rate.

Utter f***ing shit, when was the last time you worked for minimum wage, with no guarantee of hours?
