Next season make every game £5 for adults and £1 kids to fill the stadium.......

.....surely everyone must agree that this a brilliant idea? What could be better next season than a full sol for most games with a cracking atmosphere to spur the lads on. Whats more the club will make an absolute bomb from catering/drinks/merchandise. Its been years since the sol has been filled on a regular basis and I for one long for those days when we could welcome teams to the sol and hear the raw as the team came out to that ready to gan song !!! FTM 4EVA
If anything we should be increasing prices for both home and away fans in order to compensate for the massive reduction in TV revenue.

Because of our low price structure, just about every side in the division will be charged less than our lot on our travels.
 
You'll be one of them types who dine in 2-for-1 family pubs and then complain that theres kids in there.


A thread about ticket prices has descended into farce with people just lining up to call the person who started it a Newcastle supporter.

It's not the cost of a ticket that stops people going to the match.


People on here genuinely claiming that £25 a pop isn't even a consideration for most potential match goers?

Yous lucky to be in a position to have that opinion, but for a lot of people £25 is a wedge. Niver wonder why the atmosphere's slowly but surely drained from the place? Not many people who remember what enthusiasm and excitement feel like actually turn up any more. (I know seating and shit football are a factor but it goes beyond that).

It's obviously too late for this season as everyone's got their cards, but OP's is a genuinely good idea. Anyone that's been to a game in Germany will struggle to argue with it.

On any given day, the majority of active threads have ~the latest 4/5 pages just inane bickering with you, Midds or Fish. It takes absolutely fuck all time to formulate the opinion that there should be a separate Toon Toon section for yous all to play in.

I think you need to take this up with the people who contribute to this 'inane bickering' as well tbf.

You're Newcastle fans spending inordinate amounts of time on a Sunderland forum. It's weird and confusing and bound to get people's backs up. No-one has time to respond to the flood of people that don't get why you're here.

None of yous can leave owt though. Someone has a dig on here, you generally let it drop. You lot just keep mithering on and on. In this thread the discussion about pricing stopped long ago, you just started calling the OP a nonce instead.

It's nowt to dee with price man. Can fill the stadium at full price v Chelsea and Everton, end of the season before last when there's summit to play for.

Fair point, and yes £25 is still a lot of money to go to a football match. Especially when you've got kids too, it soon adds up.

But even with reduced prices and freebies/offers there are plenty who still wouldn't go due to the rubbish they'd have to watch.

I'm not denying that like. Got to a stage last season where I wouldn't even watch on tele if Rodwell was starting.

People aren't not going to matches cos they can't afford tickets. They are well within the budget of the average person. The way people talk on here sometimes about prices, you'd think we were a third world nation or summit.

The tickets are priced at a level where a family on "modest" income could afford to go as a treat once or twice a season.

Going more often than that wouldprobably involve sacrifices elsewhere in their family budget and a lot of families have higher priorities in their budget than football matches.

It would take about 10 families that size each going once a season to make the equivelent of one supporter buying a SC for a single seat.

Dropping the price by a fiver or so may mean those families on that income level can maybe go 3 or 4 times a season rather than once or twice. At the same time, the families who were going 3 or 4 times a season may be able to afford seasons tickets.

You're talking nonesense mate. If you can't afford the 25-38 quid to sit in a co concession end you don't have a job. I agree kids should get in free. I'd be happy with under 16's going free. But to say the price needs a fiver dropping to make it worthwhile is nonesense. If you can afford entertainment for a fiver less then you can afford it at the going rate.

Yeah I wasn't talking about 1 bloke on his own going to the match. I was talking about a family going to the match together.

Obviously you can pull out the price of a ticket and go, on yer tod. But a day out at the match for a lot of people would involve 2 adult tickets plus 2 to 3 child tickets. That's then getting onto a canny wedge to pull out.

Well in that case it is an every now and then occasion. I mean I could afford to go every week if I really wanted to (i live in york) but it would push my finances out a bit. So instead I save up to go 3-4 times a season with spare cash to make a full day of it as well. Get properly steaming, have a party. Surely thats what the match is about for those of us who can't make every game. All is well with the world!
