Next manager ???

It's gonna take one dumb bastard to take this god-awful job...

1) There's no money to spend
2) The current players are poor quality
3) Short backs the players, not the manager
4) Short has a track record of lying to the manager about how much is in the transfer kitty. For the truth, see (1) above.
5) Short's lack of football judgment and experience results in him panicking and sacking managers prematurely
6) A lack of confidence means the fans are impatient, the current scapegoat's head already on the block
7) It's a cold, impoverished and unfashionable part of the world.

Jesus the list of candidates in this thread is very depressing.

I'll raise you a Billy Davies or a Paul Ince.

As much as I hate him, Neil Warnock, realistically, Paul Lambert, but there is so much more than the managers job to sort out, chairman who has given up, players who don't give a shit, fans who can't take anymore, losing mentality throughout the club, need a Denis Smith character, who put £10k of his own cash up, if he didn't get us promoted from the 3rd at the first attempt, iirc

The reality of the position we're in needs to sink in. No manager of any value would come anywhere near us at present. The club's publically been touted for sale, it's well known we're completely skint, confidence is shot to bits, and the whole place from top to bottom looks like a shambles.

If Grayson does get the push the money we use to appoint a new man will be a pittance.

A short term (to the end of the season) deal to appoint someone with a genuine affection for the club might not only be preferable but it might be our only option.

You've done it now, posting reality is not very popular on here, the sacking of the manager is all that is needed for us to return to the promised land ;)

I'd go for Paul Lambert - he's managed big clubs, had some success, played at the top level. He'd want the job, is available and would steady the ship. This club is quite clearly too big for Grayson.

... and it's squad too pathetic.

I was championing the appointment of Warnock in the summer. Sadly, there is no way he would come here now

Someone who can come in and mix things up a little, bit like Di Canio did at the time.

Don’t care who, anyone must be better than this clown

Just remind me how that turned out again?
