Im gonna keep banging the drum for Neil Lennon. I'd be surprised if he took it, because he doesn't seem daft. But he'd would be respected by the players, and I can see the fans warming to him. He'd certainly keep this squad up.

He obviously did very well with Celtic, had a decent first season with Bolton, but the club itself fell to pieces around him in his second season. He's done very well with Hibs.

He's just got a bit of something about him, like Keano does, but with more managerial nouse and better people skills. I just think he'd fit in, he'd get what it's all about.

An owner that thought £1.25m was sufficient transfer money to escape this league isn't going to sack a manager and pay compensation. The reality is we're stuck with Larry unless he decides to walk a way and the club doesn't have to pay compensate to another clueless manager.

That is a very accurate reading of the situation. That and the fact there is tremendous goodwill towards Simon within the club anyway.

Long term decisions cannot be made by mob mentality.

I cant see it we arent even planning for relegation. But if he does get sacked it will be after the Middlesbrough game when we go into the international break after that it will probably be too late.

Don't read the whole paper unless you're into statistics but the conclusion (as I read it) is that 10 games is enough to assess the likelihood of a manager succeeding or failing. If, after 10 games, he's not performing to expectation he's unlikely to improve the team's position thereafter. It's therefore suggested it's optimal to sack him sooner rather than later. Admittedly, this is a statistical model so it will undoubtedly have its flaws, but it's an objective approach that's not governed by emotions or prejudices, so it might be considered as having some merit.
