Next manager poll - serious candidate suggestions

Of those listed I'd go for Manning. I've always liked the idea of picking the next top level UK coach. It may be Manning. MK Dons were the most impressive team I saw last year. And, yes, that is scant evidence but each choice is a risk. I could see the logic in Mowbray but the scathing post from 'Blackburn fan in peace' was a bit of a red flag. Previous fans opinions are not gospel but are definitely worth considering.
One fan?

1 - Robins - would be my first choice easily. Good style of play and similar system to what we have now. Steady progression year on year at Coventry working with young players and plenty of championship experience.

2 - Mowbray - probably the least exciting of any options but for 18 months/2 years he would consolidate us mid table imo. Similar systems/style of play. From the north east and seems to be familiar with our team already and can start quickly.

3 - Manning - could be the best long term option but concerning that he has no experience at this level and his style is a lot more patient build up play from what I have seen. Not sure that aligns to what we do at the moment or what gets our fans going. A risk but wouldn’t be too dissapointed.

The rest are after that. Likes of dyche and bielsa just totally unrealistic. I don’t know how anyone can want Barry as I imagine 99.9% know nothing about him or how he wants to play. far too big of a risk for us in a year of establishing ourselves in the league.

We need someone in quickly, so it's not likely to be someone in a job, particularly if they're at a club where they're doing reasonably well, and it's this early in the season. Not because of compensation, but because clubs are less likely to allow talks, and negotiations would take too long. So people like Robins, Manning, etc can't really be considered realistic targets.

Stoke managed to get a manager who was employed by another club within a day of their previous manager being sacked……

One who is personal friends with their chairman, and that they've been chasing for years, and had engineered his own get-out clause. Aye, that's typical. Neil was tapped, pure and simple.
