Newcastle talking to vieira

I reckon Vieira will be a name they'll use to force McClaren into accepting whatever they offer. Big opportunity for McClaren and the mags will know he can't really afford to ignore their advances.

They'll appoint McClaren.
Have to agree. Glad it's not us mind, didn't fill me with confidence. The way Derby dropped away after Christmas with the squad they had was shameful.

The mags (whilst the league position doesn't suggest so) have hit rock bottom too though. I know they love a protest but some of the protests this season have been next level and there's a massive sense of "what's the point??" at St James' for the first time in my lifetime at least. Growing up I used to have a list of mags to text and rip into but now I don't bother because none of them are that bothered anymore. Total sense of apathy. They need a lift. Step forward World Cup winner Patrick Vieira.

Certainly beats my hope that Ashley would gonna keep Carver in charge.
I'm still waiting for you to answer my question as to the difference between Premier league management and international management after your obvious dig when you I indicated Dick had retired but hadn't because he was willing to take on international management.
Ran away from that thread with your tail between your legs didn't you

no I didn't. You said he'd retired. I said he hasn't retired. I said I'm happy to wait and see how this summer pans out. Nothing's changed in the last 48 hours as the summer isn't over yet.

We'll see what happens.

Over to Ellis I suppose to prove me wrong.

This. Vieira is a gamble, but gamble's can look like a masterstroke if they come off.

he'd bring a sense of professionalism to a club that hasn't acted like a professional outfit since 1996. He'd also attract a different level of quality. The mags, like us, have massive potential. Huge city, huge fanbase. I don't want Ashley to stumble across somebody who can lift them back to where they were around a decade ago. I'm happy for them to remain the running joke of the region with their persistent fuck ups on/off the pitch.

McClaren (or Carver) please, Mike.

Viera would be a decent appointment for them imo so I hope it doesn't happen, I'm praying it's McLaren, or better still Carver is given another go at reviving the big fat mess that is the mags.

precisely.
Bad enough worrying about who we'll get let alone them lot imo. Might as well worry about WHU. Time will tell.

That said I'd be over the moon if they suddenly announced Carver got the job

it wasn't about retirement or not though was it? It was the debate about the difference between premier league and international football and the difference managing the different situations. Clearly a huge difference but rather than admit that you just left it. Argue all you like, that's the facts

Funny how people were wanting him the other day, now he's shit.
Who wanted him, just out of interest, like

Cant be many harder first jobs around, the fact many of the top players want out, the fans will continue to protest & the need to turn around horrific form from last season

@LukeEdwardsTele: The Vieira story is based on bookmakers' odds. Not saying that means it's isn't true but that's why story has been written #nufc
