Newcastle talking to vieira

We were bottom of the Championship and needed a boost. Newcastle have had an awful season and need stability.

our position meant we couldn't afford to take a risk. We appointed a loose cannon who was totally unpredictable and he was lauded as a potential saviour. The mags aren't going to get stability because their squad is shit and needs overhauled and their coaching staff that started this month also requires a massive overhaul.

We had very little to lose. We were on the back of the most embarrassing season in our history and the fans needed something to cling on to. Were you at Derby? THAT is why we brought Keane in - cult of personality if you like

H
He was still on the tit. And indeed still is.

The mags (whilst the league position doesn't suggest so) have hit rock bottom too though. I know they love a protest but some of the protests this season have been next level and there's a massive sense of "what's the point??" at St James' for the first time in my lifetime at least. Growing up I used to have a list of mags to text and rip into but now I don't bother because none of them are that bothered anymore. Total sense of apathy. They need a lift. Step forward World Cup winner Patrick Vieira.

Certainly beats my hope that Ashley would gonna keep Carver in charge.

I think it's more an appointment that a championship club would make. Like people who want Keane back now, I definitely wouldn't. Asking for trouble.

I don't believe he's known for a suspect temperament, and he's been happy to work as an academy coach which suggests he wants to learn his trade.

If anything I think the problem is he's an inexperienced new manager and they're a dysfunctional club where he'd be on a hiding to nothing. Maybe he'd be better off at a lower division well run club to build experience

Leave him be, he is having a shit week. Not his fault his beloved Rangers are shite.

Was thinking about this earlier. I had an email read out on SSN sying Keane was a surpeise appointment but that I was sure Sunderland supporters would give him our full backing. As a Premiership team, I don't think I'd feel the dame TBH. Maybe a fine line but there you go.

for what it's worth, I remain convinced it'll be McClaren because Ashley doesn't do "out-of-the-box" thinking.

He is 1/6 anarl like

I reckon Vieira will be a name they'll use to force McClaren into accepting whatever they offer. Big opportunity for McClaren and the mags will know he can't really afford to ignore their advances.

They'll appoint McClaren.
