Man city wouldn't put just anyone in charge of their academy, plus he will know each of their best players inside out for potential signings?

He's also won everything in site and was a top player, it doesn't mean anything I know but I'd rather give him a chance than take dyche

And probably not quite so crackers as Keane

He certainly didn't seem as volatile as Keane on the pitch, although that didnt diminish from his general 'aura' and the regard he was held in.

My worry would be that he might suffer from 'Roy Keane Syndrome' as I call it, in as much he cant handle players not being able to do the things he did, but if he's been coaching City's young'uns he should have been able to come to grips with that, although some of them are probably better than our first teamers!

The biggest problem would be dropping him straight in the the Premier League, at least Keane had the Championship to ease himself into first. It's a very tough league, but managerially has nothing on the PL for pressure and scrutiny. Every mistake you make will pretty much be both punished and scrutinised. Also Keane joined with fairly low expectations for the season due to the position we were in and he also had the spending power that other clubs didn't in that league didn't have.

Good players don't always become good managers, unless they are intelligent and committed into the bargain.

Alex Neil at Norwich has the makings of being a very good manager but he is still a bit under the radar because he wasn't a top player. He'll be more in demand when he keeps Norwich up next season.

Nee worse than Roy Keane though.
We were bottom of the Championship and sinking fast, slightly different situation here. It was still relatively close to his playing days too, he could command respect from that. Been a while now for Viera.
