Newcastle have 6 million fans

So let me get this straight, some knackers do a survey where some forieign fuck ticks a box of his preference. What a load of shite, that goes for all surveys by the way, utter shite.

this. this. oh and this.

100 people surveyed in pubs in three international cities while the Mags were playing Man U.

72 responded.

20 said "United" so the answers were split between both the Uniteds in the PL.

Survey carried out in 2009.

etc - utter bollocks - you can't count the Newcastle fans in Newcastle - how the f*ck would you count them worldwide.

ps if they had the savvy to just rank them it might have carried some weight - but completely discredited by adding numbers.

They wernt exactly mighty though, certainly nowhere near the level they are today nom nom nom mmm nom

Again with the attempts to belittle an achievement by NUFC  It makes no difference how good or otherwise they were: they put out a side to play in a Champions League game - not a pre-season friendly.

The 'level they are today' is such that the mighty Man Utd were paddled by them in the CL final. We played, and beat, what was put in front of us.

So by that logic, Birmingham City, who have the Carling Cup in their cabinet, are a bigger club than Newcastle and Sunderland. I would never have guessed.

oooo - I can feel the hurt. It certainly helps them on their way - one major competitive trophy in recent times doesn't secure 'big club' status, but 1 in 57 years er that certainly guarantees the club in question CANNOT be a 'big club'. 'Big clubs' win trophies now and then. End Of.

A recent survey carried out in a geographically neutral, and particularly diverse place discovered some interesting results.

The findings showed that Newcastle have an alarmingly high nonce rate among their support.

Blah blah blah

:lol:And for the record, here's how 'quite poor' Barca were that night...

Barcelona (1-3-4-2): Hesp; Celades; Reiziger, Nadal, Sergi; Figo, De la Pena, Amunike (Ciric, h-t), Rivaldo; Enrique, Anderson (Dugarry, 55). Substitutes not used: Abelardo, Amor, Pizzi, R Garcia, Busquets (gk).

Yu' right, RFE, shite team that like.

Hesp, Celades, Amunike (and his sub Ciric) - Never fuckin heard of them.Chomp on that

So BCFC win the League Cup and they are on their way to becoming a big club. When would they actually achieve big club status? What instrument is used to measure club 'bigness'?

I just love the bitterness in here when our CL adventures are brought up (nothing has changed like, Villa were shit when we put six past them as well) It's like Duncan Goodhew mocking Noel Gallagher's haircut. And for the record, here's how 'quite poor' Barca were that night...

IIRC barcelona didnt win any of the CL games that year. They were far from the team of today, no matter how much you wish

Are you f***ing blind?

Yes of course they are, big clubs win things and certainly as your fickle followers have admirably demonstrated, a bit of believe that things will be won draws in fans massively. The biggest cubs cannot be unsuccessful in the long-term or they would not become/cease to be amongst the biggest clubs.

As for Birmingham, large city club, fairly good history in the upper reaches of their country, I don't know how many wins it would take beyond , yes their start which does indeed put them on their way. And I never claimed to - but as you seem keen to emphasis - 1 win in the last year isn't enough - so most certainly 1 win in 57 years CANNOT be. I'd accept that in the current games there are ways around 'winning' - consistently 2/3 in your own league and CL quarters would certainly do over a sustained period. But I wonder, to date, how many have achieved that over say a 10 year period (7 occasions say) without also having picked up at least two two major competitive trophies. I doubt there is any.

Birmingham, Newcastle and Sunderland are all big clubs if you are a MK Dons, Yeovil or Leeds fan (see what I did there ), but not if you are talking about international renown.

Well yes it does, otherwise you have fuck all to boast of

I wish fuck all - I don't need to because we beat Barcelona in the Champions League -end of story. If they weren't too good back then that's their problem.

But it clearly still rankles with many on here judging by the defensive posts. Carry on and you may be able to convince the world that it was actually a Barcelona XI in the Intertoto  (as if!)

If they werent very good then why brag about it?

I'm being called an idiot by someone who put two smileys in his post. You can't imagine the hurt I feel.

Not as hurt as i would love to make you feel

I think they've just plucked those figures out of their arse.
I mean what they done, asked every single person on the planet 'Which football team do you support?'
