Why? Is that not a shakin Steven’s song?We could paint the players tunnel green, and rename it the "Green Door".
Shakin' what now? Elvis innit......Why? Is that not a shakin Steven’s song?
We’ve never done anything like this before, but it’s looking for new ways to develop links, reach new people, connect existing supporters to a product emotionally. Anybody who’s been to the match in the past 2/3 years has belted this out pre-kick off. It’s gone from a song we sang to our song.I’m still finding the Elvis thing strange, if the 2nd strip is the “pink slice” then we’ve definitely gone obscure.
I like it tho, better to be quirky than boring.
Wise Men Say would be better marra.Imagine a full life size hologram of Elvis leading the crowd in “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.
If it is, just return to sender.Could be a scam, dont get caught in a trap.
Damn beaten to it![]()
Nah, he was drafted in the late fifties. Basically the old blokes were raging because he went on the Ed Sullivan Show for the third time in a sparkly waistcoat and mascara. The previous appearance he’d more or less caused riots.
Even though they refused to show him from the waist down this time, he still gave their wives them feelings. He also insisted on singing a black spiritual song against Sullivan’s wishes. The blokes all said nah f*** this and it was announced a few days after that he’d be drafted. They sent him to West Germany for two years.
I agree entirely. We’ve never done anything like this before, but it’s looking for new ways to develop links, reach new people, connect existing supporters to a product emotionally. We’ve not released an Irish version of an SAFC shirt before, or an Armed Forces themed shirt. It’s just producing something something will buy, but they’ve chose the biggest rock star ever to help them.
We haven’t exactly reinvented the wheel with this either.
There’ll definitely be inspiration taken from Bohemians.

Was scrolling quickly and just presumed it was a @Space Hopper post
Edit: I’ve only just realised he hasn’t been on for a while? Hope all is ok?
Was wondering about SH earlier, miss the jokes @Space Hopper hope all is well Marra.
Well, Elvis never got to tour Europe, we’ll have to do it for him instead.
@Longy mentioned Bohs. The club brought in more than €2m in shirt sales. That's more than any other sports club/county in Ireland. I didn't like the Kneecap, Fontaines DC, Palestine or Refugees Welcome shirts because I felt they were too political. But I snapped up the Thin Lizzy and Oasis ones because I support Bohs and like those bands. I got the Bob Marley one too. I love this seasons retro Billy Young jersey.I agree entirely.
We need more themed launches, because we are blighted by the perennial whingers who moan about everything and anything.
They didn’t like our Pride LGBGT theme, they didn’t like our Irish theme,
but if we bring out loads of different themes then the penny might eventually drop. They are intended for some, but not for all.
It’s great business, so live and let live![]()
Yeah, I was going to say that I too am not that keen on the overly political ( but I like St Pauli stuff) so it proves my point to spread it wide. Cover a few bases.@Longy mentioned Bohs. The Netflix documentary did help raise the profile of SAFC and the rise up the leagues is a good old leagues is a good old fashion football story. Wise Men Say before the game has become one of the scenes of the season. The Elvis link will push our profile even further.
It’s on the bottom so you can wipe your arse with itLanded at Prestwick so I’ve heard we are having a saltire on the back of the shirt
