New rules surrounding location of away fans...

I have a mate, who's had a season ticket for 30 years, who's daughter was hit by a coin thrown by an Arsenal supporter.

It needs to change.

aye it's always been the same since the away fans were located above the n/s,i've been lucky so far but there's been instances of bottles and flares chucked over,Boro,Arsenal,Spurs and them lot up the road are the worst in my op,strange how they can get away with it when you look up and see a thin yellow line standing in front of them, might have something to do with the colour of their jackets

Ok, just I seen (IIRC) a lass with what might have been her dad holding her head and pointing up to the tier above. This was in the north stand below the black cats bar, probably about half way down.

yea that was just to my right, got bottled she did

I don't normally sit there but my mate had a spare ticket for the black cats bar. His seats are under the upper tier, but I wouldn't fancy sitting further down with the upper tier just above/behind.

Just return them to where they used to be, the atmosphere was generally better and it's hardly helped our results has it. Lost count of the number of times the opposition have scored winning goals at the South Stand end despite there being no away fans there.

Just make the singing end where the family bit is and sandwich the away fans between the SW corner and the singing end.
And where do us unlucky lot in the Family Enclosure get shunted to?

On the face of it, wherever they end up there are going to be a big collection of fans unhappy. I'd be happy to see the away fans go back to the South Stand as it was when the stadium opened, but I'm sure the Uber Ultras on here who prop up the rest of the silent majority would have something to say about that.

I think the singing section has worked well. All its meant is we've no longer had shite about mini buses and stereos. Which is a good thing.

And split up some of our most vocal fans? That would be daft. The SW corner and South stand shouldn't be touched.

They should relocate the family enclosure.

Agree ,
We sit in the family enclosure and don't really care where it is to be honest

We moved the away fans so there wouldn't be a visible gap in the stand on tv so the logical thing, if we have to have them pitchside, would be to put them in the west stand somewhere. The southern end of the west stand would put them next to out loudest section so that would make the most sense.

Good news this. The atmosphere at the SoL has died a death since they moved the away fans out the South Stand. Not sure where best to put them though because the only area of the stadium that makes any noise is the South Stand so it wouldn't be very logical to put them back there.

Maybe do what Boro have done and give them the SE corner going into the East Stand and shift the TV cameras over to the East Stand so the empty seats for segregation aren't visible.

It would be stupid to break up the south stand and the south west corner. It might not be a "singing section" but it's the base of the atmosphere.

Whack them in one of the north corners if it's not the south east corner.

Be like a morgue if they break the south stand up. Stick them in the north east corner out the way
Would be my suggestion.NE corner last to sell out so logically best place to put them.I know season ticket holders in this area will be inconvenienced but will happen no matter where the changes occur.

Shame. It was a great idea to move the away fans to a crap part of the ground where their nose cannot be heard by their fans and the ref.
And it freed up the South Stand, which always looked awful on telly - made it look like we had a half full ground.

IMO...

SWC plus West Stand wing for bigger away allocations. Move the SWC fans to the current family zone making the whole South Stand and SEC the singing end and then there's also more capacity for those who want to join in.

Family stand in the North Upper/North West Upper. More capacity for that as well with the current area being so popular.
may as well just put the fans SEC

Thought this was news months ago and hasn't it already been decided where the away fans are going.

Did it though. To my ears, the sound from up there reverberated around the ground. Even more so when we used to empty the stadium just after half-time.
