New rules surrounding location of away fans...

it is like. Other parts of the ground tend to join in when things are going well but the only constant source of atmosphere, chanting and singing is the South Stand/SWC.

the mags used to put European aways and smaller allocations in the cups and that in the corner directly below the current away end because they wouldn't open level 7 if they didn't have to. Can imagine they'll do that but on a larger scale if they come up.

That East Stand/ Leazes Corner holds 1,800. I'd imagine that plus a block or two either side.

Brilliant news anyway. If we aren't battering someone the SOL has been a morgue since they reconfigured. I'm in the SS and it isn't a patch on the old SWC cos there's no one to compete with.

Ive always thought SWC/west stand wing would be a good place for them but this would only be good if the SWC lot got shifted to what is now the family area so that it keeps the south stand and SWC together. Those two together must total around 5-6k so it's a risk breaking it up when it's clearly the main vocal driver in the stadium and when in unison is loud as fuck.

Sounds like a fair bit of upheaval though so it'd depend on whether the club could be arsed. Lower north west corner is possible, means not much changes outside the ground from an organisational point of view and also means in cup games they can be allocated the upper north west corner as well which would give them their full cup game whack.

Me and my mum are in the south stand right next to swc just because neither of us were ever comfortable sitting quietly through a football match and the stewards are turning a blind eye to standing there. We've already sort of nodded to the fact we dont have much fun going to the match anymore, if we lose our seats I think it would be the final straw.
Surely if you're not having much fun then it won't bother you?

This

Imo the 'singing section' hasn't worked

Just return them to where they used to be, the atmosphere was generally better and it's hardly helped our results has it. Lost count of the number of times the opposition have scored winning goals at the South Stand end despite there being no away fans there.

Just make the singing end where the family bit is and sandwich the away fans between the SW corner and the singing end.

Would love the 'singing section' to work its way around to the sec like.

Often wondered about moving mesel & the lad around slightly so we're closer to it.

Is it Under 12's that technically can't have a seat in the south/southwest bit??

Should have never changed. It's stupid having the away fans above the home fans. Sure there was a thread where someone mentioned coins and spitting.

I've had pies, beer , coins and piss chucked over my area since they got moved above me. f***ing stupid idea, set us up for a hiding.

Might have been me. My son and fair few others got both from the Man Utd fans during the cup 1st leg. Not noticed anything from any other fans tbh mind

Has to be the North East corner surely, the blocks are small there and could be easily segregated. Stick a few hundred there and the rest upstairs.

Most other options would be putting away fans in front of executive boxes, expect the South East corner/family section but this is right next to the fan zone and would cause problems outside.

If we stop up then we don't have a choice. Stop being a child

Not entirely sure where you get childish from, or even decide you have the right to start insulting other people at all, to say that after 25 and 45 years respectively we would probably not go back to sitting down elsewhere in the stadium throughout games. Didnt like it and nothing on the pitch is making it worthwhile.

Whats the reason why you don't have the north stand as your main end anyway? Always thought it was weird putting away fans there.

Stop whinging then. If you don't want to go then don't go.
If the away fans do have to move then it's not of the club's doing. Some of our fans will unfortunately have to move. As long as it's not you though.

I'll have to ask him mate.

I think he's in the lower seats to the right as you look at the North Stand.
Ok, just I seen (IIRC) a lass with what might have been her dad holding her head and pointing up to the tier above. This was in the north stand below the black cats bar, probably about half way down.
