New rules surrounding location of away fans...

Although the South Stand makes the noise it must be the most shittest 'singing stand' in the whole of football, it's hardly atmosphere central.

The SW Corner used to be louder.

South Stand is just full of kids and band wagon jumpers.

That's complete bollocks. There is a real snobbery about the South Stand on here. Yes they are vocal and certainly contribute to the atmosphere but it's utter bollocks to say that other parts of the ground make no noise.

I sit in the north stand and he's right. Apart from derby day and the Chelsea/Everton game last season it's been dead. Theres not been a single song all season from the north stand

Best option would be to move the family stand to the north east corner and put the away fans in the south east.

Almost every home ground is shit in the premier league now. I can't think of anyone whos atmosphere is better than ours. For christ sake don't mention Palace either because a few hundred lads jumping around with flags isn't atmosphere. West Brom is the quietest place i've ever been in the prem.

it makes just as much noise as other "singing ends" in Britain. Again, there isn't a single stadium in the country where the atmosphere is rocking every week. When we get going though, we're amongst the best.

Spot on. It's one of the best.

Brilliant news. Make the new away end the South East Corner.
Then you'll keep the SS/SWC for atmosphere, plus probably the East Stand next to the away fans.

It's not like moving the away fans has helped us on the pitch!
Has against the mags. Never been beaten since the move.

Well it's not if we're being truthful. How often does the North stand sing? The east stand rarely if ever sings.

I'm in the north stand. There's shouts of encouragement but it's cetmrtainly not a singing end. Might get the odd red and white or greatest team but that's it.

Why doesn't the whole ground just sing? I never understand it myself.

Oppo players would shit it, we'd be known as the best fans and our players would absolutely live it.

Imagine if to a man, regardless of what happened we just sang non-stop for the full 90, the full ground?

South Stand/SWC are proactive. Rest of stadium is reactive. Very rare that the team give the rest of the stadium something to react to so the noise is often limited.

That's the top and bottom of it.

I'd have to agree. It used to be the SWC that started everything when the away fans were next door.

Now most of the chants/atmosphere start at the back of the South Stand, then us in the SWC corner pick up on it.

Then you get a spread across the South end. Occasionally get a bit from the North Stand which gets going sometimes (was very loud against Chelsea last season)

IMO...

SWC plus West Stand wing for bigger away allocations. Move the SWC fans to the current family zone making the whole South Stand and SEC the singing end and then there's also more capacity for those who want to join in.

Family stand in the North Upper/North West Upper. More capacity for that as well with the current area being so popular.

Me and my mum are in the south stand right next to swc just because neither of us were ever comfortable sitting quietly through a football match and the stewards are turning a blind eye to standing there. We've already sort of nodded to the fact we dont have much fun going to the match anymore, if we lose our seats I think it would be the final straw.
