New rules surrounding location of away fans...

East Stand/SE corner, got to be the best place for them, out of the way of the tele cameras, and being next to the South Stand might bring them to life. Leave the upper north stand empty until the lower bowl is full.
The whole point of the exercise is to have away fans visible on TV thus showing whats unique about english football in comparison with its worldwide TV rights rivals (La Liga). IE massive travelling support. Im not just making this up.

So you're telling me you didn't mind the sight of mags, cockneys, manxs etc celebrating wildly behind the goal and taking the piss ? U must be off ya nut.
THAT is the entire point of the exercise. It doesnt happen in the countries that are rivalling the PL in worldwide TV sales. Its the PLs unique selling point and if a club wants to receive their full TV rights money then they will have to comply. If they dont theyll have a % knocked off and shared out amongst the clubs that do comply.

Doubt it. Loads of clubs aren't visible to TV no chance they'd have voted for that

I can only tell you, I cant make you believe.

I must admit the "empty seats when on the telly" argument meant absolutely nothing to me. If behind the south stand was sparsely populated by a few Wigan fans, I think most footy fans realised Wigans travelling support was never prolific.

Then this is turned around because nobody wanted to see 3000 mags celebrating with their team behind the goal.
Its aimed at the worldwide TV market who may have little idea of Wigans following.

I don't think they will move family section from the SEC. They've put a lot of work in on the concourse to make it child friendly. All the walls are painted bonny colours and there's interactive games and stuff.
If we stay up and if this happens then the millions of TV rights at stake will make it happen.........if thats where they want em.

no it's a request from the premier league who are trying to improve the away fans experience.
.....and bring in more from overseas TV rights.

Not sure Doberman seems to be the most clued up about it. I think it's gunna become rules Hank.

Ahem.

According to the mags at my place we shouldn't be concerned with it as we won't be in the league next season… this was followed by our first win and (hopefully) season kick-start. Do they never learn :lol:

I see that the new rules say that the change is subject to approval by the relevant local authority.

After the battle we had to move them I can't see the local safety committee being too keen on any move.

Hope so! To be fair the view from the north upper is brilliant. Newcastle is too far when you're right at the back though

Love Fratton Park. In fact Portsmouth fans are all spot on. I will always have fond memories of the way they acted when they beat us 3-1 on a Monday night the week before the mags went down. They all applauded our fans for travelling and were singing cheer up alan shearer as we left the ground

They joined in with us singing it during the match as well.

Seen us spank them 4-1 down there. Summerbee scored on his debut

Last time we won there I think. I was at that 1 and the 1-1 game the season after. I didn't go back until around 2008, not sure how many times we played there in between

And split up some of our most vocal fans? That would be daft. The SW corner and South stand shouldn't be touched.

They should relocate the family enclosure.

The SW corner has cheap seating. And (unofficially) 'safe' standing which also attracts me! Stick them in the North end somewhere...anywhere!!

Could well use L29 U 32/33 and P 35/36/37/38 - would be similar to what Man City currently do. That way also if they dont see enough tickets we can use the premier concourse
