New rules surrounding location of away fans...

the rules state it must be a minimum of one block but it's impractical for away ends to be divided up into two different areas of the ground so it'll be the full 3 or 4 blocks or whatever we give to aways that will be shifted.

Premier League to discuss potential safe standing areas at routine club meeting next week. No suggestion decision will be made. Early days.
It's almost right above them though, or splitting them up that much.

For fucks sake. Shocking that.

They'll have to relocate the family enclosure.

It's crap that loads don't sell out so it looks shit.

Its crap that SAFC didnt anticipate not having massive away crowds descending on the SOL for every game when it was designed. Shouldve been designed to be split into smaller sections that can be used by away or home fans depending on the allocation required by the visitors. Yet another thing thats rocket science etc etc blah blah.

What's the point of it? They're always stickin their neb in for the wrong reasons.

Creates a better atmosphere that helps sell PL TV rights abroad. An atmosphere that LaLiga doesnt get because theres no tradition of away fans en masse. Which in turn means SAFC have more money to spend on the likes of Rodwell and Graham and Altidore and errrrrrrh. Your bloody well reet marra.

South west corner is the logical option.
The PL want them visible on TV from the main camera positions otherwise theres no point in doing it.

It isn't logical for away fans to be moved to SE corner. Turnstiles would be right next to fan zone and Stokoe statue creating problems.

NW corner would be best (upper NW too for big cup allocations). Maybe offer executive boxes in that area at a discount

Doubt it. Loads of clubs aren't visible to TV no chance they'd have voted for that

I am marra. But then Ive never been one who needs away fans near me to make a racket. All that will happen is we will return to the days of threads galore slating our fans for singing about mini buses and the opposition fans rather supporting the team. Also, it is only a handful of games each season where we wouldnt be staring/singing at a load of empty seats.

Over half the league will bring a good following, i liked it better them days, makes the mundane shit bearable.

Boro have got the right idea. Away fans in a corner out the way rather than behind a goal, and actively encourage that full stand behind the goal to stand up (unlike ours who forced the bottom half of the south stand to sit or be thrown out and banned). Thankfully it's sorted out from those early teething problems and there aren't mass throwings out every match and the club would be daft to break up the south stand and SWC now after all that - not forgetting without it our ground would be a morgue in the main.

Either way it'll be interesting watching how this one pans out.

Wonder if the club would even contemplate doing a Man City and keeping away fans in the north stand but spreading them narrowly over the two/three tiers? One block pitch side, one above the walkway and the rest in the upper north where they are now, but obviously not the full upper section. Not saying I hope this is what they do like but it would be a solution that would affect less season card holders.

Ive got a season ticket so not too arsed how it looks on camera
I must admit the "empty seats when on the telly" argument meant absolutely nothing to me. If behind the south stand was sparsely populated by a few Wigan fans, I think most footy fans realised Wigans travelling support was never prolific.

Then this is turned around because nobody wanted to see 3000 mags celebrating with their team behind the goal.

Tin hat time...

Stop all away support. It would solve many problems. The club could offer a beam back service to soften the blow.
Alternatively, as a travelling supporter, I think away fans should not only have pitchside seats, but central and behind the goal. It's common knowledge that us travelling hoardes make the atmosphere ;)

It is mate, very sad that someone uses a basic term they don't even understand. Don't worry though, I don't blame you, I blame your parents.
For a wannabe wum you're pretty thick. And then the real you pops out with sad comments about being concerned about what the away fans look like on tv. Maybe that's why you get so erect over Man Utd fans.
