I wonder if it is because Nissan are soon not going to be the poster child of Sunderland so they now need to play cosy with the council, in the hope they can continue to benefit.

Good idea that, Nissan could set up a production line disguised as something fun. Soft play but really they're upholstering seats. Fun painting, as long as it's yellow. Tire flipping, right onto the wheel. Have a go on the exercise bikes, wired up to charge batteries.

Considering they are one of the major employer's in the North East it makes sense that they haven't aligned themself with a local football club and shown favouritism.
