New Music Releases Thread

London Fields Brewery is class @James

Really quiet tonight mind

Tuff Love were very good mind

Will have to keep an eye out for any other gigs there then. What was the sound like? Also cheers for the Ulrika Spacek tip, very good indeed, I had put off listening to it because I thought it would be another aetherial female solo project and I'm just utterly saturated with that lately. Just a bit wrong.

New stuff today: Yuck, Pinkshinyultrablast, Mothers, Wabi Sabi. I recommend Mothers.

Yes mate been listening to 'Dreams of another day' and 'Fast Track' on repeat, absolutely brilliant

Good stuff, they're a great band and excellent live, get along to see them whenever you get a chance.

Sound was ok, but not especially loud. It's a bit like walking into a sauna, wooden beams everywhere

Someone tell me where to start with Neil Young please

Heard bits over the years, own the best of etc, but off to see him in Lyon whilst over there for the Euros so a bit of background would be good
Heaven help you there. Bit like Dylan (who I have limited tolerance for). Decade as a very basic start point and follow with Rust Never Sleeps, Re-ac-tor / Trans and Everybodys Rockin' for a legend being an awkward get. Weld after that before it all gets a bit pick and choose.

Sarah Neufeld is worth a listen.

Other things I have been listening to that I don't think have been mentioned

Tortoise
Ariel Sharratt
Federico Albanese
Jasmine Guffond
Lily & Madeleine
Cross Record

The lovely Laura Veirs announced today that she is releasing an album with Neko Case and KD Lang on June 17th under the name Case/Lang/Veirs

This morning I discovered that the "pre-order" tracks for the new Pete Yorn (4 songs) and Steven Page (2 songs) albums are on Apple Music (both released on the 11th). Very impressed with the PY tacks, only on the first SP song - very much like the type of song he wrote in Stunt/Maroon/ETE era Barenaked Ladies.

Can't believe I've been waiting four and a half years for Gonzalez to release new music and this is the first track

It's alright I suppose.

Can't stop listening to the new PY tracks! Dunno if they are on Spotify but Apple Music users, get on this! The rest of the album is available from the 11th.

don't know if anyone who gets on this thread uses apple music for streaming but theres currently 20% off iTunes vouchers when you pay with paypal. You can use your iTunes balance to pay for apple music. Decent saving for anyone who does use it.

That's is a good saving. I pay for my Apple Music by doing online surveys which I exchange for iTunes vouchers but I might stick up on a couple of month's worth in reserve in case I get a bad month or 2 of "screen outs"!

Case / Lang / Veirs track "released" last night as part of the pre-order. It's on Apple Music now too. I like it, Laura Veirs features quite heavily in it!
