New Music Releases Thread

I see there is a "new" Jeff Buckley album next month

One new song, an early version of Grace and covers of the likes of Zeppelin, the Smiths and Dylan

Can't wait

Aye. Uncut have a feature about him this month, presumably tied into the album release. I wish people would just leave things as they are with him.

On newer stuff, after two listens, I'm kind of enjoying the Animal Collective album. Cavern of Antimatter album is excellent!

Oh I know. But he's great. Listening to "Sketches....." now in fact

Try the WALL EP, very good

I'm tempted but don't have a ticket yet

Sold out like so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled if you're gunna pick one up.

Money played a massively new album weighted set last night. As canny as it is lyrically, for the most part it just does nothing for me musically. Found it quite dull. Incredibly polished performance though and the strings were excellent. Just a bit bland. Suppose it's better than not having them at all, which by the sounds of it was very likely with Jamie destroying himself with booze and cocaine. Been through a shit time.

Lead singer from Car Seat Headrest is the frontman that the fella from Ought dreams of being. So much more energy and weirdness. They were very good despite only playing 2 songs from their latest record - new stuff sounding good. Lead singers guitar snapped during the second song as well so he just ditched it, the mics also went off for the majority of a song too, he also managed to fall over at one point. Not the best night for things going tits up, didn't really impact on the enjoyment though so happy days!

One of the young 'uns at the Brewery's plays in Desert Mountain Tribe and they're launching their new album on Wednesday. got meself a pre release copy and have to say it's rather enjoyable. The lad may well have a future in music ......... tempted to get the band to sign me copy ........

Looking forward to that record that Minor Victories have just announced, with Stuart from Mogwai and a few others from Editors & Slowdive. The song they've already released is very good.

What are people's opinions on Slowdive? Never really listened to them but probably gonna have to listen to an album or two soon.

Crookes were bloody excellent last night, such an underrated band. @Freight Train you had a chance to give them a proper listen yet?

By the way, Oslo, the best small venue in London and possibly the UK? Located literally joined to the Overground station, sound near perfect, bar easy to get served, reasonable prices and a topper selection of beers. 10/10 from me.
