We'll obviously I'll add more but the same band made this and it is tremendously good...Suggestions always welcome
Marlon Williams is like Chris Isaac before he played a music teacher on Friends. But, from New Zealand and good...
Aside from that, gave the recent Saul Williams album a belated listen and it's crunchy. And, the free CD with this month's Uncut (Springsteen cover) is very good... Meilyr Jones, anyone?
Have to admit, Marina and the Diamonds was tremendous last night. Poptastic.
Money tonight, Car Seat Headrest tomorrow and then The Crookes on Wednesday to top off a week of live music.
Seen The Crookes at thinktank on the 13th ... Very good and you need to add +25p to your can of red stripe price
I'm off to see Tuff Love at a brewery on ThursdayHave to admit, Marina and the Diamonds was tremendous last night. Poptastic.

Really? f***ing hell, no way should anywhere be charging £4.50+ for a can, never mind a venue in Newcastle ffs. iirc it's a rip off at the Village Underground tonight as well so I'll be giving the support band a miss. Still cheaper than Think Tank, mind.
Glad you enjoyed The Crookes, very good live band.
Misty Miller supported them up here... Was just her self and her boyfriend on guitar, canny voice but her songs were shit
Aye she's touring with them on every date I think. She's gone from being a light hearted acoustic-based 17 year old to this weird punk feminist thing now she's grown up. Doesn't seem that interesting but I'll probably still get there in time to catch some of her set out of interest. Quite liked her song she did with the Crookes, thought that would've made the album but I guess it wouldn't really fit the style of it.

I can't remember the last time I bought a cheap drink at a music venue. I got a pint of IPA at the Deaf Institute in Manchester the other night and that was £4, which is probably one of the more reasonable prices I've had to pay.
Someone tell me where to start with Neil Young please
Heard bits over the years, own the best of etc, but off to see him in Lyon whilst over there for the Euros so a bit of background would be good
Heard a couple Crookes songs the last couple of days and they sound canny...any recommendation of which album to begin with?
Hold Fast is a good starting point. If you're into their sound though there's hardly a bad track on any of their albums, they have nailed catchy guitar pop with good lyrics. They're class and one those bands I will always go back to inbetween listening to new albums.
