New Inn for Seaburn seafront.

Wont be out to tender until mid/late September.

The picture is correct, it’s a 4 floor development. I don’t design the buildings, that’s for clever people, we just do the services.
We were expecting a request to tender from Tolent for Vaux 2 but we’ve only had one in so far and it wasn’t them.

I’ve only quoted it for one elec contractor but to be honest I don’t think we would be able to do it at the minute, work has gone thru the roof lately and it’s a decent size.

Had macq enquiry in and bellway homes HQ near the airport which is a nice job, hoping to get them both.

NGB? We’ve quoted for B&K and they’re using them on the NICAD building in Newcastle. Not popular with the other trades on that job.

The design is smart but shame we can't have more developments similar to the Tombola building and along Roker at pier point. The triangular roof just gives buildings more character.

Difference with that development is that it was developed by Tombola and they chucked money at it, I believe to create an environment to retain its workers. To build that development on Vaux and try to get a rent to cover the development cost just wouldn’t be possible.

It would have been a better to have sold land at Vaux to Tombola and to have built on their HQ on that site. Not sure they would have wanted to mind as understand they’ve bought a number of other properties around their building and looking to create a campus style mix of facilities.

Would have looked good based in the centre but as you say I think they already had a presence down there.

Bring back the Pullman, shipping containers are going out of fashion now. Train carriages will be the next big thing
