New Inn for Seaburn seafront.

To be fair it's something that's missing from the city, although I agree it could be anywhere it would be an attraction for the area if they're looking to increase leisure facilities, stuff to do when the weather isn't that great etc.

The Aquatic Centre pool is shite for kids like. Last time I had the bairn there we called it a day because he was shivvering with the cold. Bit further up the road to Haven Point and it's spot on. It's going to be hard to avoid drawing comparisons with that.
Whilst we can argue about the attraction or not of having an indoor play pool in the area the seafront is absolutely the wrong place for it imo.

Waste of money (Its the Council)

It's private investment not the council, as is the Cairn Group's plan to open a Holiday Inn Express at Keel Square but that still doesn't stop the bellends on the Echo's Facebook page coming out with crap like that.
Isn't that a four storey building in the chronicle image not three?

"The Inn Collection, which has an expanding portfolio of pubs with rooms, including The Seaton Lane Inn in Seaton, The Hog’s Head Inn in Alnwick and The Bamburgh Castle Inn in Seahouses "

They already own some canny venues so hopefully this Seaburn one will be a success too. Canny views from the seafront balconies.

The temperature of the pool is due it needing to be a certain temperature for elite swimming I believe. Leisure pool temperature is usually a lot higher.

Which is fair enough, wouldn't serve its purpose otherwise.

Fair point but there are several other pools within the city - Washington, Silksworth, Hendon and Hetton all of which I would suspect are at a more reasonable temperature.

I’m not disputing that a leisure pool would be a nice to have I’m just not sure they are viable from a business perspective, meaning council likely to have to subsidise it.

And the council have stated from the start they’re not interested in subsiding any of the leisure offerings which is fair enough really

What about the Pods?
Will no one think of the Pods?

(Haven’t thought about them in a while, wonder if ‘their’ still ‘their’?)
Why the fuck you would want an indoor swimming pool down the seafront god only knows.

Ditto friggin Morrison’s. What was the need for that?
We had an indoor leisure pool and it closed due to not being financially viable i.e. nee bugger using it
And this.
