Hyperthetical question I know at this moment in time but who would the candidates be to replace Andy Flower were he to decide to stand down?

Ashley Giles nailed on even though he's crap

was talking about this, me and me marra don't rate giles at all but it is hard to really judge the selectors, they've done a pretty shite job but who knows who is to blame when it's done by committee? easy to write off giles but we both did it based on him as a bowler rather than owt else. i guess its all you've got to go on though

He has championed chris woakes and is probably the reason that he's lions captain. Thats good a reason as any to argue that he should not be head coach.

Moxon would be my choice. Not a huge pool to choose from these days as many end up going down the media route as opposed to coaching.

Mark Robinson at Sussex is on the radar but it would not surprise me if Paul Grayson is in the mix. TBH anyone except Giles. Graeme Welch - my choice but unlikely.

Indeed and I think selectors have done a pretty good job for the last 6 or 7 years. Not had a great last 4 months but cant get it right all of the time, and some issues have been out of their hands

not sure i agree with this tbh, we have been a very good side i agree but alot of that is just down to who came along at the right time.

bell has come good finally but was underperforming for a long time, likewise broad and anderson [primarily abroad, they were almost useless outside of england for a long long time] - now you could argue that this is a plus point, we stuck with them and they've come good.. but surely the talent they had didnt have to stay hidden so long?

number 6 - since collingwood retired, in fact for a good year or two before he retired we didn't seem to do anything with the 6, tried all and sundry with no success - stokes has had one good game here and lets all hope he can make the spot his own but... collingwood, bopara, wright, shah, morgan, taylor, bairstow, woakes, root etc... all in a couple of years?

certain players i think have been treated very poorly, onions and compton spring to mind immediately. the peter moores vs kevin pietersen fiasco was handled very badly anarl. the raft of lanky quicks we have taken to australia and then not used, even on the quickest bounciest wicket in the world when we needed a result... jesus that is just awful selection. why take rankin, tremlett and finn if you're not going to play any of them at the waca?
