you'll be lucky if it's that good. Batting there requires a great deal of patience.

They had big plans in the early 90's but things didn't materialise - around the same time they paid players (mercenaries) ......then couldn't get 2 sides out a couple of years back

I was playing junior cricket at silky when they drew up the grand plans and started raising money and then...... Nowt:lol:

Was about 92-93 iirc.

What where the plans then?

Brand new pavillion, I think were the existing scoreboard is,

Indoor nets,

Viewing area.

Can't remember the rest but the plans looked great and were on show for quite a while.

They were very impressive - then nowt happened

Out of interest, is it still a requirement of captains to provide a written report on the umpires/pitch etc

Not been back for a few years but from whats been said they have steadily improved things off the pitch so good luck to them. A few of them i've known for years as i went to school with them and played junior cricket at silky with them.

Things have been improving off the field at Silky for a few years now. Credit to them - would much rather see a club invest in their facilities and juniors than waste money on journeymen "pros" like a lot of other clubs seem hell bent on doing.

Reminds me of a fuckwitt at my old club who did something similar without anyones knowledge, then when he came to show it off he discovered it wasn't the badge, just something someone had knocked up as a prototype !

What made it even more strange was that he was about 50 and had only been at the club a year - dragged along by someone else.

Haha egg man! I know exactly who you mean! Etched for life, tattooed on his arm wasn't it? Wrong club badge!!!

not a tattoo just dedicated to the club get the drift

My choice for this year, bought on the evidence of a six I got hit for last year with one of these, might still be in the air at the minute

Thought they were Pakistani for a minute ( must be all the decals) but I see they are English made . For that money you are getting near an M& H

With the 60 quid off think its a decent price, been using a kookaburra for the past 2 years, that cost 160 quid, so for a extra 40 think its worth it,

Watch the fucker split down the middle first net after knock in....

Chance you take unfortunately , bought my lad an M&H Harlequin , lasted about 5 year , replaced it last christmas £350 , the bassas split in the toe by August , M&H are crack hot at repair fortunately

You are all absolutely nuts paying that much for bats. Get yourself into a shop and have a play around with the £100-£150 bats. You can always find one with a decent enough pick up and even though the wood is of a supposedly lower quality, they all ping off pretty well when you hit the middle.

I agree, it just became a kind of tradition from being u15 , if he played well and could justify it i bought him top bats. He played his way up to premier standard so he did his bit :-)
