New away shirt (£50)

I'm not expert on this but I would have thought that lowering the price may also damage the brand/image of the club, potentially seeing the shirts as 'cheap' and likely to impact sales. Manufacturers may not like this.
At £30 a shirt, both my kids would have one and I would buy home and away for me to play 5 a side in. At £50 a shirt I won't be buying any.

I was gunna get a home shirt and the training shorts off the club store for 5-a-side and that. Seen the prices as was well put off, no way I can justify spending 80 odd quid on top of a season card.

Went on a different site and found last seasons training gear with no badge for £8 and shorts for £3. In my opinion pricing out your own fans to force them to go to cheaper places with no club affiliation is more "damaging to the brand" than selling cheaper tops.

There also missing out on sales because the store is shut. My cousin wants to take the bairns to get both full kits and get himself them but the store being closed he won't bother till its open.

Sheffield Wednesday charge £60 for their shirts last year and will likely do so again this year. Many League Two teams, including Mansfield and Tranmere, charge as much as £45 for their shirts for the forthcoming season. It's pretty reasonable in all honesty.
Reasonable 🤣 .
They will cost a few quid to make, barely worth a tenner never mind £50! Football shirts have always been a total and utter rip off.

Everyone seems to buy their bairns snide shirts these days but when I was a kid if you’d been caught wearing a fake shirt you would’ve got the piss ripped out of you. Is that not the case amongst kids anymore?

I see the home shirts are already sold out in L, XL and XXL ! ...... how many did they have in stock FFS! Hope they replenish stocks soon .... although with the way the club shop has been run lately I am not holding my breath!

We’ve been buying our 8 year old his kits from safc since he was born. Some in the sales, a lot full price, name and number, delivery etc.

We are trying a £12 DhGate home shirt and if it’s cack I promised him some authentic clobber in the sales.

There’s a new kit each season which is OTT, imho. People are paying for a Nike swoosh on Avec garments.

SAFC could make a real statement by agreeing a direct deal with avec to produce a new home shirt every 2 seasons, with perhaps a different away shirt each season.

Well you're talking about two different things. Yes, premium clothing is overpriced compared to its cost. Just in the context of the going rate for football shirts, £50 is reasonable in 2021 even by League One standards.

I'm sure at one time home shirts had to last 2 years minimum, was a rule.

Should be brought back, same for every team so it's fair. And limit how many you are allowed to have (no third kits, or cups only kits).

It hasn’t arrived yet! Dh gate is a Chinese version of amazon I think.

The last 2 safc kits that I bought were c. 1988 Hummel and 2000ish Nike and I think that they were unchanged for 2 or 3 years.

Edit: I also bought the 96/7 avec shirt.

Possibly indicates that the price is reasonable. Tbf this year's kits are the best in a few years at least, not surprised they're selling well.
