I haven't bought or worn a football shirt since our pink and purple third strip in the 2016/17 season but quite like the new yellow away one, it's available for £50 from safc.com, is this the normal price for a football shirt these days? I'm sure I used to get them for £35-40. Is this a legitimate moan or am I being a cheap bastard?

It is, but don't expect any decent quality for £50 either. The Mrs got me last season's away kit for Christmas and the stick on badge, quality of material & button on the collar is shocking.

Think it’s actually cheap(er).

Newcastle’s is £65. As is Manchester United’s new away. Tottenham’s new away shirt is £70. A lot of kit manufactures, particularly for bigger clubs, are seeing the appeal and recent trend for football shirts as fashion. People who aren’t necessarily huge fans of a club might pay more for a shirt that looks good/mental. Hence a lot of these bolder third kits.
