Never been so depressed after a win

So frustrating seeing so many piss taking responses to this.

It's a kids area - it's supposed to feel safe for kids and be a place a parent can take their kids (the next generation of Sunderland fans). If they don't feel safe or the language is poor, then it's not working as a kids area.

If those that are swearing and behaving poorly want to do so, go and sit with the grown ups.

I think the club should have stewards paying proper attention in the family zones and move those that are not behaving so that it is the right environment for the kids - I don't see why the OP and his family should have to move.

Totally agree, but for me no matter where you are in the ground you should be able to tone it down a bit if there are little uns around.

Dunno, maybe I've lost something but I just find it bemusing how people get so ridiculously, vein bulgingly angry at the game. Some of the shite that gets shouted wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else and shouldn't be at a football match 🤷

f***ing hell, grow up.

If you think it's 'hard' yelling swearwords then you are misguided. It's not 'soft' to want your kids to enjoy a game of football and maybe to even fall in love with their local team, and they should be able to do that without some knackers shouting swearwords and exposing them to stuff they are parents don't want them exposed to - it's really not that f***ing hard to understand.

And by exposing the young kids to this sort of language doesn't toughen them up, it just intimidates a lot of them and makes the parents think it's not for them - they'll take their support to a club that takes into consideration all if it's fans.
Just put him on ignore. He's a windup merchant who obviously has neither kids nor class.

Today I've come in from the match and cut our season cards up. Not because of the team, but because of the poor behaviour of our fans which has disgusted me. We are not going back to thse seats again.

Normally I would'nt be bothered but we moved to the kids area a few years ago so we could take our 9 and 4 year olds.

Next to us are a grandad and grandson. Repeatedly this season the grandson, who looks to be about 12, has made his mouth go; gradually getting worse with feck, turning into fuck, then today adding the c word into it. Also shouting at the top of his voice constantly. Just being allowed to get away with it. The grandad of course hasn't heard/seen any of this. Not only this but the kid bangs on the seat in front of him and hollers at the top of his voice...just getting away with it. There is usually someone next to the swat he bangs on as well.

Today we said something and were told it's a football match, that he's not swearing, to basically keep quiet.

Anyway my wife left with the two kids as she didnt feel safe with this kids behaviour. To give some context she has actually been wearing ear buds to drown this lad out recently.

My father in law left, who is in his mid 80s as he'd had enough as well.

I stayed behind out of principle that I'd paid for my ticket.

On her way out my wife reported this to the stewards for excessive swearing, and the only advice was to speak to the ticket office for us to move seats...not to actually speak to people doing this or deal with it

To reiterate this was the kids area of the south stand, towards the front... also the area that has signs asking people to watch their language.

Just before we scored the second I'd had enough with the continued swearing and left myself. On the way out I said to the grandad 'not swearing eh?', as the kid was swearing as I passed by, and was told to fuck off by the people around him. As I say, not normally bothered by this but the hitting of seats, contant hollering and swearing has left my kids not wanting to go back.

Any other area of the ground I wouldn't have been bothered, but not acceptable in the kids area and so sad that my own dont want to go back. Will be contacting the ticket office on monday to shift seats and explain what's gone on.

Not expecting any sympathy but had to sound off haha!
Just sit somewhere else ...there's morons everywhere. Take the initiative and move. Plenty of empty open spaces

Not right in the family enclosure.
Move your seats it’s a big enough ground but above all please don’t give up.
Feral kids everywhere.

Love all the hard lads on here like.

He’s taken his bairns to a family enclosure. He’s gone about it the right way by reporting to a steward. Should the lad really be having a pop at the Grandfather in front of his own kids, his wife and his elderly father in law like?

So many keyboard warriors on here who wouldn’t say boo to a goose in real life.

Pathetic man.

I'm inclined to think they don't have kids either. Or if they do are like the negligent grandpa in question...

I think this sweeping generalisation makes you the utter ‘moron’ tbf.

I’ve sat in the sound stand and south west corner for years and been surrounded by generally decent folk, who love going to the match and supporting Sunderland

Aye you're surrounded by the 5% fella.

Cheers though.

The replies to this thread are predicable and depressing in the same way. Why should he move when those around him are in the wrong?
i‘m an adult and go with my wife and sometimes my dad, to enjoy the football. Why should I have to accept foul language and aggressive behaviour anywhere in the ground , family enclosure or not.
it’s not acceptable or big or clever. Just moronic. I can’t believe it’s even open for debate.

Just start windmilling

The club will take any pennies they can get, the sooner we are back in the Premier League and these ruffians are priced out the better.
