Netflix password sharing

I don't subscribe to Netflix on Sky BUT access it through Sky apps without any problems.
I assume you have a Netflix subscription and you have logged on to it via the app on Sky. If you have Sky Q you can save a bit of money by subscribing to Netflix via Sky. I think there’s a free for 4 months offer on at the moment

I cancelled mine just before xmas, just thought I’d try and log in at the weekend to check it was cancelled to find it was still active
contacted Netflix on their live chat to find someone had hacked into my account and reactivated it. To their credit Netflix sent me a link to change the password then once changed closed me down again and refunded me. just a word for warning for anyone contemplating cancelling keep an eye on ya bank to check it’s not been reactivated

Comes bundled with the subscription.

If everyone paid we might get better programmes instead of three hour documentaries that should really only last 20 minutes.

They really drag the stories out sometimes.
I think I posted further up the page. They are the victim of their own PR when they actively encouraged people to password share a few years ago. Now they don't like password sharing

I think this has more to do with people signing up over lockdown cancelling subscriptions and they have a revenue drop because of it

I'd imagine the main thing they will be looking for is if you are watching something in one property and another person is watching using your account in another at the same time (different IP address). Remember Netflix allows you to set up different users for each account and you can watch on a certain amount of devices depending on your subscription. They won't be stopping you logging in round a mates if it's just you using the account.

But even that could be one account for one household. Bloke works away all week and is sick of porn so boots up Schitts Creek on Netflix in digs while the Mrs and kids are watching something else back home. All within T&Cs

This will cause them more problems than the one they are appearing to try and solve and most likely a reduction of subscribers

I am not sure that is in the T&Cs (I will take you word for it) - you'd think they would define a household account as one location. They are talking about this coming in this quarter, so will see how it goes! My son still uses mine and he moved out a few years back. Not that he will bother watching much on it anyway I doubt, so would be no great loss.

Na I don't think it is at the minute but it would seem that is the direction they are going

From What is a Netflix household?

What is a Netflix household?

A Netflix account is for people who live together in a single household. This single household is the Netflix household and is associated with the primary account owner’s devices and the devices used by other people who live in the Netflix household.

Using Netflix while traveling or from a different location

If you are traveling or live between different homes, we want you to be able to enjoy Netflix anywhere, anytime. If you are the primary account owner (or live with them), you shouldn’t need to verify your device to watch Netflix.
If you are away from the Netflix household for an extended period of time, you may be occasionally asked to verify your device. We ask you to verify to make sure that the device using the account is authorized to do so. Verifying a device is quick and easy. See “Verifying a device” above for details.
