He's a difficult player to judge. Has a lot of attributes that makes you think he could become one of the best midfielders in this league, but at the same time basic aspects of his game really let him down such as passing and general decision making even when under no pressure at all.

Time for excuses for N'Dong stops now. He's had a complete season and yes he was adapting to a new country and playing in a struggling side, however, if he doesn't start to look the part in the championship, Grayson has to leave him out.

I hope he comes good but all anyone ever points to when discussing his strengths are his energy levels. Most professional athletes of his age should have energy to burn but as a key player in our midfield we need to see a lot more footballing attributes from N'Dong.

Passing accurately and occasionally threatening the opposition goal would be a start.
this is what I was trying to say but you put it forward way better than me

Not surprised nobody wants him. His tactical play is rotten. Just turns his back and gives up on the ball if it goes past him

Kind of player I really want to come good and he has occasional spells when he is OK
but as you say his positional sense is dreadful, gets turned really easy and always seems to be chasing the game.
Has given away loads of penalties / free kicks trying to catch up.

Has only been in France a year after moving from Tunisia then came to the PL into a shit side with a shit manager. He wasn't fantastic or anything last season but I think I've seen enough that he could be a good player for us and progress to be a decent bottom half PL midfielder

He is still very raw and his came can lack intelligence at times but I think this will be a big season for him and I fancy him to do well

Trying to do the job of 3 men half of last season. He's got potential, really needs to show it this season.

what does he do In a game then as he isn't a holding midfielder he isn't an attacking midfielder and he can't pass for toffee

he had some cracking games last year and showed flashes of what he can do in most games.

if you can't see what he has to offer i can't help you

I thought he was the only player trying against Celtic, massive opportunity for him to show us what he is made of. Starting tonight. He will score!

but bizarrely most players don't.

If he's played with cattermole, gibson or rodwell he'll be in a similar position this season though.
If and it's a big f***ing if. Cattermole can stay fit, he'll take on a lot of the donkey work Ndong was doing last season.

he only has a handful of goals in his career, i think expecting him to suddenly become a goal scorer is unlikely, id be very happy but i'm not expecting it. i'd be happy if he and cattermole can provide somethign solid between defence and attack that allows others to get forward more
