He's not Rodwell, so people prefer him.

Doesn't matter how he actually does.
U got some kind of agenda ?
For his first full game at a top team, he did ok.
He will definitely be an asset to us unlike that prick Rodwell.

Looked good in my opinion for a first game in the premier league against a side who will he challenging.

He'll become a good player for us and confident we'll improve with him as the team settles and Moyes gets his 1st 11 worked out

Some strange views of him and our team it seems.

Anyone who thinks he's no different to what we've got must watch games with their eyes shut.

I would guess that he was a long way clear of the rest of the team today for distance covered and it wasnt at a slow pace either. Problem is, as usual, he's running round trying to close down on his own. He needed way more from the other more advanced players to try and win back possession but Defoe and Janusaj simply couldn't be arsed it seemed and Pienaar was way off the pace.

From what I have seen so far, him and M'Vila in front of Kirchoff would be a good. Shame we've not got "our French midfielder" though (twatting Russians)

Thought he played well and was happy to take responsibility on the few occasions we got into advanced positions. He also showed good energy and pace and was our only player closing down and defending from the front at times, so much so that he was berating the senior players behind him. Looking forward to seeing him against lesser sides where he'll have more opportunities on the ball.

As loads have said I thought the lad looked good, when you factor in how shite the rest of the team were around him he could well be a canny signing for us. Looked value for money against the two Man U lads lets put it that way.

did ok, doesn't look like a £13 million player but he's neat and tidy and gets around the park.

So what does a 13 million player look like on his debut in a totally foreign environment against a top 4 team on their patch ?

I confidently predict he will grow in stature and that after two full seasons we will be fending off big offers for him.

I liked the way he wanted the ball, he was energetic and got round the pitch, likes a tackle, and used the ball well.
He will grow in stature the more he gets used to his new environment.

Did well. Best out of the midfield TBH. Most interceptions, nearly all tackles won and a 92% passing accuracy. That is god considering our team couldn't string together 5 passes in a row and finished with a disgusting 60% or so passing accuracy. Our ball retention was abysmal yday, down to the shape and deepness of the team like. Total containment which meant we couldn't have players up the pitch to press, collect or hold the ball. That way of playing will never yield points or success.

Only if we stop in this league, if we get relegated we will be falling over ourselves to give him away.

Papy was even worse

Thought he done OK yesterday but the error cost us so can see why he's getting stick. He won almost everything in the air, made a couple of crucial tackles (specifically one crunching one winning the ball and leaving their player in a heap) and made a few very good blocks, again with one excellent full length one. His passing (lumping) is poor. Not sure this is just him or what he has been told to do

Hard to judge imo because we were so deep and under relentless pressure since the kick off. He always seems to have a great moment followed by a poor one or vice versa. Needs some understanding with Kone and only a run of games will get that.

Agree with this, I just think he needs to calm down. His errors come from rushing things and just being too rash trying to win a ball he's not going to get.

Just stand off a bit and think and he'll be a decent player.

His performance against Everton reminded me of Bailly when he was at Villareal. He was very rash as well and they conceded a few goals in much the same way the the one we did when he dove in 30 yards up the pitch leaving the space in behind. Just needs to reign this in, concentrate more and develop an understanding with Kone and it will relieve the pressure and he should do OK
