There’s a genuine possibility we sign no striker for the rest of the window like. Which is actually hilarious
Some people would defend it as well

All these clubs know we’re desperate for a striker or two and will do their very best to pull our pants down with a week to go. KS will have to be prepared to walk away from a deal and get his timing right to do a deal, so it may take until deadline day.Can you share some of your wealth with me, if you think five hundred thousand pounds is a pittance like you are implying.
If that was the case, why don't the selling club just accept it our bid? Not worth haggling over half a million eh?

Are you saying he didn’t?“Jobe looked decent up front against Rotherham. Play him there.”
No, I’m saying he’s not a viable option as our main striker up to the January transfer window - and failure to bring another one in whilst we bed in Semedo and get Stewart fit again would be pathetic on our part. Are you saying he didn’t?
We are nowhere near breaching FFP in a single year - yet. Or maybe more accurately we weren't as per the last (league one) accounts. The bit that CWs article misses out entirely is the cumulative effect of transfers on FFP (although it is a good article). You can't spend all the allowance once and then ignore it the following year. Every transfer increases the total number across the whole period of the contracts. To put it into context, the total allowable losses (prior to owner funding) basically equates to making four £2m signings in one window. It doesn't take much to push things over the edge. That's before you consider whether it is responsible for an owner to load financial responsibilities onto the club that the club simply cannot sustain without massive owner input. We are nowhere near breaching FFP. This is a false narrative. See Chris Weatherspoon’s analysis on this subject. Not ‘paying enough’ for a striker is club policy around financial discipline not an attempt to avoid breaking FFP rules.
Thought he did really well, looks like we will all get a 2nd look this weekend.Thats a worry in itself a 17yo midfielder looking better than a new 19yo strikerAre you saying he didn’t?
Aye mate it’s a club policy. Dear me. Which number is it on the list like? Not ‘paying enough’ for a striker is club policy
Yep, I think people have took that article as gospel and means the club are somehow trying to hide behind it.We are nowhere near breaching FFP in a single year - yet. Of course we could roll the dice and throw every last penny we're allowed at promotion in one single year, but what would happen if we failed? Even if we did throw the maximum amount at it, we'd still be only the fourth best funded club at best.
So 500k is a pittance to a PL team but quite significant in the championship. Got it.Everything is relevant to revenue.
