Nathan Broadhead

Let's concentrate on someone without his blatantly obvious injury problems. The manager cannot be wondering every week whether such a talented, but incredibly injury prone player, will be available for selection in a mega competitive league where games come thick and fast.

For someone only aged 24 Broadhead's hamstring/injury issues are very worrying. The season before last he was at Burton Albion on loan and had the same problems there. At the end of last season just prior to the Play Off final he was selected for the Welsh squad and withdrew within a couple of days. Since making his singular Everton appearance in 2017, he has only played a further 39 competitive first team matches in 5 years [19 Burton Albion-2 goals, 20 with Sunderland-10 goals].

We just cannot afford the risk when there are some decent striking options out there if we're prepared to invest in them.

Wonder if the club fancy that Matthew Hoppe who was linked the other day

I'd be surprised to see us spend 3 million on a player now after spending around 6m.

I think the rest of the signings now will be loans and the lack of business is down to waiting for the Prem League clubs to start kicking into business.

We may have had a very low figure in mind for Broadhead and it hasn't been enough to get a bite from Everton. Like others have said, it would be strange for Everton to loan him back with Simms already here.

Everton training on Sky sports news a minute ago, about 22 players and no sign of Broadhead.

Calvert-Lewin injured, Rondon suspended. The reporter mentioned a 19 year old kid and Simms being out on loan but not Broadhead being an option for the weekend.

He'd be nuts to sign another Everton contract. He need to be playing games at 24.

It's a win win for Everton there give him a new improved contract loan him out he scores 15+ goals then sell him for big 💰
he won't get the game time here to score 15+ goals, especially now we've signed Simms...Forget about him now if what The Athletic said is true

I would imagine, given his brittleness, he'll go wherever he is going to get the biggest wage.

He must know, given his injury record, the next contract could be his last
