strange one, i was told yesterday he'd signed an extension but assumed they were confused about the deal he signed last year.

gonna be another loan deal if it happens i guess.

From a purely logical point of view a loan suits everyone. I must be old fashioned because I think he's too old to have a parent club. Either he moves on or he backs himself to stay and fight for his place at Everton.

I reckon he'll come here on loan, probably suits us better to be honest
Yeah, agree mate. Although tweet from The Athletic says a number of Championship club are interested and "he will go on loan to another club", doesn't neccessarily mean us🤷‍♂️ bit disappointing not buying a striker and having 2 loans. Be back to square one next Summer.

He’d be mental to sign a new deal there. We would be daft to pursue a loan deal for him aswell imo. He simply isn’t reliable enough.
He'd be mental not to, assuming it's better than anything he's being offered elsewhere, just job security isn't it.

just a weird situation. I assume Everton are putting it in place in case they’re relegated, which could be a real possibility. I’d rather sign him permanently but if it’s a loan then so be it.

It’s mental it’s taken so long for someone who won’t get a sniff at premier league level and he was taken on tour but didn’t feature. It’s gonna take weeks if not months to get him fit you’d think as well.

I hope we get him in addition to another forward player.

The lad carries injuries. Struggles to play a full season. Apparently he's carrying one at the moment. I'd take him on loan but I am not convinced he's worth a permanent contract anyway. I hope we are monitoring other forwards.

Just seems that way from the outside looking in. Seems like he needs to be cajoled and enticed to actually put on his boots. This impression has been supported to an extent from quotes by Johnson etc. But yeah, I take your point that I don't know.
 What does that even mean? Based on what?

Having Simms takes the pressure off but we do need a resolution soon - we need one more striker.

This has got to be up there with the most boring dragged out shit ever posted on here. Just like Defoe, maybe he will eventually sign and get injured in the first week and never play this season. We should just move on

Think Everton probably see the interest in him, and if he has another successful / non-injury plagued season they'll get double what they're being presented with now. Low risk as his wages aren't high (no matter what Mad Bob says). I'd imagine we'll either take that dangling carrot or move onto another target.
