Probably one of few on here who isn't really that bothered if he signs or not. Good player but he struggles with injuries. Be happy if we were to sign him though.

Tbh, This should be a really easy transfer to make. You've got a player who's 24 yrs old, has barely kicked a competitive ball for his parent club, is constantly injured and is in his final year of his contract.

Whats the hold up? Everton can't command a big fee for him even if they wanted to with Broadheads injury record and his contract running out, besides clearly not wanting him anyway. They took him on pre season and didn't feature.

The Simms deal showed that us and Everton can get deals done so why is this one seemingly taking forever? I suspect Broadhead is probably wanting a long term, lucrative contract to keep himself protected if injuries persist, whilst the club are looking at him more cautiously, you don't want an injury prone player on a 3/4 yr deal.

Time to move on I reckon. We don't even know if he'd be any good at this level and stepping up a league will push him physically.....can his body take it?

I think at the moment we are getting sacked into the speculation. The proof is in the pudding and the pudding ain't been served.
But we can't see what's happening in the kitchen. You say the Ellis Simms deal proves Everton can get deals done. Surely that means the ellis simms deal also means we know Sunderland can get deals done
... When they're right deals for us

Good post mate.

I tend to agree with you about him wanting to try and get a long term/lucrative deal to see him through 'potentially' some tricky/injury hit years to come?

I think it's time we walk away as we have had our hands burnt before

A big difference in complexity between simms signing a loan deal and a permanent deal for Broadhead, if this is in fact happening I suspect that hold up is as it was when we signed McGeady from Everton the players pay off from Everton

Thing is mate, Everton don't want Broadhead and he's not at a level where they command a big fee due to injuries, games played, age and now his contract running out.

I don't think the hold is with Everton, Its likely to be Broadhead making sure he's sorted with a good, lengthy contract which keeps him financially stable if he's playingbor not.

Or maybe he is really injured again and the club are waiting to see how long he will be out?

You’ve absolutely no idea how transfer deals are conducted though, me neither I might add, so to say it should be really easy without knowing the procedure is naive. The Simms deal was a loan so perhaps is an easier deal to do, the Simms deal could have been ongoing for months without us knowing and could have been far tougher than the Broadhead one, we might only have entered dialogue with Everton over Broadhead in the last few days for all we know. We simply don’t know whats going on, how long it’s taking and if it will ever be concluded, let’s just see how it pans out.

I can still have my thoughts on it.

It's very rare anyone knows the goings on at the club on here, but it shouldn't stop giving thoughts and opinions.

I'll continue to give mine mate, if you don't like it stick me on ignore.

I could have sworn we walked passed him here in Benidorm yesterday. Spitting image of him.

Of course you can have your thoughts and I’ve expressed my thoughts in response!

The reason I replied was because your thoughts appear to be based on a load of rumour, assumption and conjecture.

For instance, when did Sunderland first enter into dialogue with Everton over Broadhead and how long have talks been going on for?

How long did the Simms deal take to conclude?
