I haven't a good handle on today's ffp stuff but it stands to reason a c lub that lost 8 figures in the last accounts cant or at least shouldn't be looking at an expensive rebuild.

Fortunately (not really fortunate, more like decent planning and investment) we have been promoted with a young squad, If we got our angles right originally, we should have some value to play with next summer.
So then, the theory should be - play well enough to succeed and then sell some of the source of that success so that the balance sheet can look good.

I suspect that you probably preferred Monopoly to Subbuteo as a kid.

I’m certainly no Financial Fair Play expert, but I would think that having good players playing well enough to succeed and get promoted would be sufficient protection against sanctions, particularly as my limited knowledge includes a belief that Financial Fair Play is a revenue test that is assessed over a rolling three years period.

I doubt that the likes of Ballard, Alese or Roberts, being fringe players at their previous clubs, are being paid at an unsustainable rate.

Let’s enjoy what the players can do on the field, rather than what they can do for the accounts.

More bollocks.

So no, you have 91 other league clubs to choose from, and you can't identify ONE which was less than a week away from the start of their season, with only one senior forward and one senior keeper on the books.

Thought as much. Cheers.

Thats the plan , get young players, sell some and re invest , eventually not needing to sell , at the moment we are a selling club moving towards a buying club

That theory is correct, it's a sustainable way to build as opposed to pie in the sky, get the players for now type of thinking.

I did enjoy both monopoly and Subbuteo as a small child.

Their wage doesn't rely upon your doubt or knowledge, it's market value, the reason why in extreme cases a kid can demand 70/80k a week without playing a senior game for their club.

I'll enjoy and pass comment on aspects of the football club as I please, whether that be the strategy, financial, performance on the field or otherwise, because of course, it is my right to do so.

Good day sir.

Clarke is younger, with no recurring injury problems and having played a decent amount of Championship football already.

aye, but i assume clarke was closer to 4m flat with plenty of add ons/sell on clauses taking it up considerly. i reckon broadhead will be a lower fee but add ons taking it up to 3.5
It might reach £3.5m but for that to happen he’ll probably have to play 100 games, we get promoted again and he scores the winning goal for Wales in the World Cup final to trigger the full payment.

The official fee will of course be ‘undisclosed’.

not quite that unlikely but aye
