for what it is worth

after conceding the habitual headed goal by cahill, which by the way, you have to say, was a superb move down the left, brilliant cross and a perfect header.

it just cleared turner and a header down, of that power, allowed no chance for gordon to save.

to comeback 20 mins later after a good move by zenden and a lovely first time finish, which reminded me a little of k phillips sharpness and finishing.

to then score with what without doubt, was a goal which was clearly offside, showed that safc have character and a canny fair bit of skill.

though the equaliser came from a defelcted goal, so in itself, that was unlucky but very much deserved.

overall it was a quality football match between two clubs that will finish top 10 this season, if that sort of performance is maintained.

how the hell both teams, lost to nufc is beyond me.

a good game and perfectly fair result

Agree with that. We are moving well into the right direction and im very pleased how the season is panning out.

Agreed. I don't know what everyone's complaining about! Everton are a class team, and they are difficult for anyone to beat.

I bet you didnt attend though?

cant have anyone OUT after that game.

i have read some of the other threads on here and i just didnt see what some have made out happened.

gordon nervous? one fumble which did not cost anything at all.

i thought we changed the way everton had to play, by tightening up their left wing, after baines seemed to have the whole left hand side in the first half. so that was corrected by bruce, zenden and onuhua

i just watched a game between two teams, that played at a high tempo for 90 mins and it came to a fair draw.

that performance will win more games than it loses.

the one player to me who looks like the end of his time is nigh is malbranque. it appears he has lost all strength in his legs and has no power with his shots.

I bet you didnt attend though?
i didnt but watched it.

soberly and without any preconceptions

Showed me two things;

1/ Bent wasn't fit & probably wouldn't have played if Gyan was available;
2/ We look a whole lot better when we keep the feckin ball on the ground.

Would also beg to differ regarding quality. Don't get me wrong it was a good game to watch, but it was so indicative of the Premeirship & highlighted all that is wrong with English footy when you put it on the international stage.

i disagree, as a premier league match, it was one of the better ones, that will be on tv this season.

as for international stage, who cares? cappello doesnt, nor do half the england squad. we cant win the next world cup in brazil, we wont win the next euro champs

You should be horsewhipped!

Agree with most of your comments stephen, except the above.

We were rather poor at times last night and if we play like that week in, week out I wouldn't expect a top half finish.

I really like Gordon but he didn't instill confidence last night. The fumble and resultant kick out were shocking, but he was slow off his line when Cahill lobbed him and was caught in no mans land when he flattened Cahill in the first half. That could easily have been a penalty.

No chance with either goals though.

Draw was defo the fair result. Not for the first time this season i thought we were poor in defending the high balls. Everton at times really had the pressure on and were not doing much other than lumping it into the box yet we struggled to cope. Which is ridiculous when you think of it, as Cahill and Saha are both under 6ft.

Granted Cahill is a salmon but i think for a big man, Turner really struggles at times with this part of his game.

Thought we created the better chances in front of goal. If Bent and Wellbeck had a bit of composure in front of goal because each had a very easy option of setting each other up for a tap in.

Ball retention wasn't good enough considering how good Everton are at that without being overly dangerous in taking chances.

generous imo.

i thought we looked poor, played good football but very sporadically, gave the ball away far too cheaply, needed an offside player to get us the second goal and had to clear off the line twice iirc plus they missed a sitter at the end

very dissappointed in the performance, was pleased with a point all things considered but expected more from the lads.

not sure bent should have played
