My Neighbour

most of those people who used dog walkers while at work will be walking dogs themselves. All those with kids who were at school, some will take them out. Many of those people who go jogging/walking/gym before or after work will be going out during the day. Plus someone being at home means they'll see a lot more outside their house.
To me, that is obvious but some are in a flap about it.

Decent lad, lives with his family and his dad lives with them.

His sister has just popped round.

I really do not know how difficult it is to understand the message ‘stay at home’.

f***ing idiots.
This is happening with my neighbour to. Lovely old couple, but am noticing that a few days per week their two kids are dropping the grandchildren off first thing, then picking them up on an evening. I know for a fact that both families have one parent that doesn't work and so it's not a childcare issue. Dickheads.

Have a feeling this is what’s going on next door but they both have partners.
Really want to say something but I feel what’s the point.

f***ing grown adults man the lot of them , wankers.

A lot of people get their excercise through work. They haven't got that now. What do you suggest they do.
Maybe stay in the boundaries of their homes. Considering we are going through the worst pandemic anyone living person has ever seen or is likely to see in their lives.

Thats what is coming next due to selfish idiots.

Luckily for me there is another person who is a professional Victor Meldrew close by and I've clocked him at his window staring as well, even when I'm out for a bit of exercise. Reckon he will break first and say something.

Easy to say when it’s not your elderly parents/in laws tho. I’d like to think I wouldn’t either as the problem isn’t so much them not having long left, it’s the strain they’d put on the nhs if they needed to be hospitalised but it wouldn’t be an easy decision.
Leave food/supplies on their doorstep and speak to them on the phone. You do not need to physically see them.

You’re in a very fortunate position having a VM around at times like this.

The Government have said one form of excercise allowed providing social distancing is observed. What is your problem with that. Have you tried going for a walk in a council flat, because that is what your proposing people should do, despite the people who are actually running the country advising you otherwise.
When total lockdown comes i shall be the first to agree with your stance.

I dont have a problem with it. I do have a problem with people not observing the rules. Therefore it will be banned for that reason. And it needs to happen as these are the people spreading the virus.

Is it not more likely that people's patterns have changed because they are not held to the work/commute timetable? You say dog walkers, so are you suggesting that these dogs never got walked until we were put on lockdown? A lot of people take their dog out very early before the long trip to work, or very late after they get back. Now people are walking at more relaxed times, probably between 08:30 and 6pm when most people would be working or commuting. I'm guessing you are also at home more to notice them.

Most of all, so what? I usually do the early morning walk with my dog, got up yesterday to find my wife already out with him. So I took the dog and kids out to the local very big field around 5pm. There were quite a few people there. A few dog walkers, a couple of families playing ball games. All were well apart (like opposite corners of the field), we stuck to a route which avoided them. We can't have got closer than 30m to anyone else and I'd say most on the field were the same.

Similar for joggers, either times have adjusted or it is replacing other exercise. I was thinking of doing more to replace my football and cycling. 3 mile early morning, avoid people and out for 25 minutes. Is there any harm? Probably better than a 10 mile bike ride which puts me out for longer in more dangerous places (the roads) for a similar calorie burn.

I think some people are desperate to have their curtains twitching pouring scorn on anyone going out. The outside is allowed and is healthy, you just have to be sensible. Most who I have seen are.

Absolutely spot on.

There’s a difference between being locked in the house all day and out socialising as normal.

If we are all sensible, ie out walking dogs, running or cycling in a safe way then that is totally fine. Some people would have every one locked away.

I've walked the dog twice a day for two weeks and I've rarely passed more than a single person on any given day. One of the advantages of living over here during this crisis has been the low population density, it's like living on the set of a Zombie apocalypse film.
