Fuck off. We've abused plenty of British and white players more than that plank. I'm f***ing sick of seeing people infer that his race has anything to do with it.

He gets abuse because he's utterly shit!

More abuse than others who are equally shit though?? The sheer scale of it defies reason IMO

If jozy was white would he get as much stick I wonder? Every black sunderland player gets the lazy tag.

Wow where did that come from.... Ridiculous thing to say, its all down to the style of player.
Every player we have is called lazy at some point on here though.

All black players what Ndaiye, nosworthy, Welbeck campbell ... Etc
Etc ...

See. Disgusting!

While all this all may be true, referring to a big black guy as a donkey seems pretty offensive to me. I understand it is a colloquial term passed along for ages but I think its a poor expression that shouldn't be used in this day and age and it makes the other SAFC look bad in my opinion.

It's not an SAFC expression, it's a UK expression used for centuries.

Have a read of that. Is that offensive?

The US has an obsession with race.

Does this make us "donkeyists", then?

Is there too much "donkeyism" on here.

Should the Mods ban "donkeyism"?

I am not calling you anything. I am saying when you describe black players as donkeys or other animals, it can easily be taken the wrong way by foreigners who aren't used to your English colloquialisms. If you keep using words like that to refer to players, don't get mad when people prejudge you or your club and think you are racist.

Only by f***ing idiots.

Are you being serious?! How can you construe someone calling him a donkey as racist? Jesus...
Man up man, woman, man

Is it ok to refer to white players as donkeys?

I lived in the US for years. It shocked me how much awareness there was of race, how much of an issue was made of it. It felt very very old fashioned. I realise you have a shameful record of equal rights but don't go pushing those attitudes down our throat. Its ok to call a white person, a black person and every shade in between a donkey.

Well, the OP calls him a donkey and on the first page there is a picture of a donkey pulling a cart. That inference doesn't come with Fletcher or Wickham or Ji.
Seriously the comments are infantile and express many fans disappointment with Jozy, but there is no race element to the comment so you need to back away from that pretty quickly and accept you've dropped a bollock.

I don't know. It doesn't really happen much. You are right. The US is totally oversensitive about race. I personally think referring to players as animals crosses an imaginary line you shouldn't cross. it seems a pretty negative connotation regardless of skin color.

It's not racist man. We have had 1000s of 'donkeys' down the years: white, black, brown or yellow.
