Mr Robbie savage upsetting Boro fans

We'll probably be averaging similar attendances to you next season if you go down.

We've already sold 25k season tickets, so we'll average 30k+ next season whichever league we're in.
You've had 3 :)lol:) 30k+ attendances in 159 games man!!! You may well average over 30k if you get promoted but no absolutely no chance if you don't.

50000 at Sunderland

We'll be the only hot bed next season
Only on account of the sub surface radioactivity.

embarrasing
Been saying it for years, they don't deserve a decent football team, or the investment Gibson has made in the club.

No it wouldn't. They aren't even part of the region.
This. they exist in a sort of no mans land between Yorkshire and county Durham, due to the fact that neither of us want anything to do with them.

Where is the harm in wanting Boro to do well? It would be good for the region if they get promoted (and we stay up)
I disagree Mr Wig. They aren't part of the region. The north east stops where boro starts, they have attached themselves to us like some sort of parasite.

Yes but in fairness your attendances have always been bigger than ours ;)
Agreed if you're using a headcount.

He's right though. Nobody really gives a shit about Boro. They try and latch onto this north east football thing and neither Sunderland nor Newcastle fans really give a shit about them. Playing Boro is like playing any other game. Playing Newcastle means a week or so of struggling to sleep, derby dreams and feeling sick on the morning of games. I wonder if Boro fans feel like that when they play us or Newcastle? Would be quite amusing if they felt that way and we don't give a shit.

They are absolutely tiny in comparison to us and our not so dearest neighbours.

You'd have to sell out every week to get anywhere near our attendances (if we get relegated) , if we're both in the Premier League then sadly for yourselves you'll trail in our wake, basically because you've only got a little dinky stadium, but it's not bad for a small town in Yorkshire.

Stan Anderson said the same thing years agan bout their attendances not been better than ours or the mags too
When he was in charge of the Smoggys but I can't find a link to it

The riverside is 10,000 seats too big for Middlesbrough

Boro fans are following the guidebook 'How to manufacture a rivalry that doesn't exist' to the letter. Invading this board regularly over the last few years, constantly winding us up so we will acknowledge their existence.

Robbie savage giving an opinion which probably the whole nation shares really.
But Borough should use it to their advantage , to galvanise a bit of spirit within the area for the run in.a lot of their fans are rerurning from a few years away, and a bit of outside critism will provide something, in an area lacking identity, to rally behind.

He's stating the obvious. Who disagrees with him like?
Exactly I'm a boro fan.he has that opinion.so what .non story for me . Sunderland and Newcastle have more history albeit ancient history of winning trophies and success

Good luck to Boro... hope we're playing against them next season in the top flight. They've lost a lot of fans over the last 7 or 8 years; I know lads at work who were going for years but they seem to have no interest at all these days. They'll have to get a whole new generation of fans in and to do so they'll need to drop prices for kids.

:eek:The average attendance at the Boro is only 3,000 down from the last season in the premier league. Some absolute rubbish written on here at times:lol:

I bet at least 80% of posters on this thread have never seen Sunderland lift a trophy
