Moyes: This is what I have to say to Sunderland fans who want me sacked

I really couldnt care less what a manager says to the press mate. It makes zero difference.

Some supporters do though and it is a pretty ridiculous thing to say considering we have 2 points from 9 games, he is also giving the players an excuse since he expects a relegation battle and wasn't expecting anything to be different so far

I know you are on some sort of Pro Moyes crusade but the things he has said so far as our manager are bound to piss supporters off

Just looking to balance it out mate and I dont read into what is said in press conferences, it means nothing. I doubt he is going into the dressing room, like Keane did for example, and telling the players they are shit and everyone knows they are going to lose anyway.

Media presence: shite

Team selection: shite

Subs: shite

Tactics: shite

Im sure you will be able to name something he has done well since his arrival?

Second thoughts you will have fuck all as usual so will insert a smiley and hide.......

TBF to Moyes he has picked from a limited availability. He had the tactics spot on down City and was undone by very back luck. As someone else (who listed all the games) pointed out, in the main its been a combination of bad luck and the odd individual error.

City: Freak own goal cost us
Boro: Had no one fit so played the kids. Defoe missed an absolute sitter at 0-0 that he'd usually bury.
Spurs: Took a defender to be snipered by a worm for them to score.
Palace: Two up and then a flukey goal puts them back in it. Players then go to sleep at the last seconds on a set piece to throw it away. Same the week end gone.

With all the players fit we wil be fine with the Moysey

I'd love to know how many points people did expect us to have by now?

I thought 5.

I'm partly in agreement with you to be fair I just think some of the things he has said have been canny idiotic and he should know better when we are in our current position

Players respond to leadership though. Not saying its the be all and end all but you can link our good and bad runs to the managers demeanor. He handled the Kone situation brilliantly but other than that he's looked a broken man

Look through HugeBlurts posting history. The man loves to be miserable and goes missing the odd time we ever do well. Its pathetic.

Of course it makes a difference.

What he says to the media makes a difference to results? Does it bollocks.

You have no idea what he says in training/the dressing room is the same as the media front.

Was Allardyce inspiring when he repeatedly came out and said the players were not listening to his instructions?

It sets a tone. If he is (overly) negative (not just realistic), it will have an effect on the players. How do you think the players felt being told they were in a relegation battle after two games and that they are not of the same standard he is used to?

Psychology matters in sport, and Moyes is shit at it.

I doubt he told them they were in a relegation battle tbh. They cant even send a tweet so doubt they pay any attention to the media stuff.

Keane told the players before a game against Villa, and I quote "Look lads, youre shit, we all know youre shit and will lose, but at least try and enjoy being shit". They drew the game.

He said it in a TV interview. I suppose there is a chance they don't watch his interviews like.

So

"I didn't expect it to be different"

=

"I didn't expect to be able to take 11 professional footballers and get them to defend a goal to a pub league level, within 10 weeks"

?

You can lose Dave, but there's no fuckin excuse for the way we're playing. We look like children out there.

If he expected this he should never have taken the job.

Dead man walking.
Premier league is pub league level now is it?

“I have to earn their support and at the moment, I could understand they didn’t see that because of our results.

“When I came here, I did not expect it to be an awful lot different although obviously, I hoped it would be.

“I can only tell them that we’re doing everything possible to get there and I’ll keep doing it until told differently”

Talks cheap...negative tactics , your signings have been very poor...all in all a clusterfuck

Of course, but how many more? I would maybe say a win against Boro and draw against Palace?

The games we have had so far we should be looking at about 8 points to me. 6 from West Brom, Palace and Boro plus a couple of draws along the way

It isn't just points for me but the terrible performances and constant changing tactics from something that isn't working to something else that doesn't work

Unless he improves his management quite a bit he doesn't deserve the chance to be in charge of any rebuild. I'm not saying sack him now like many others are but he simply needs to improve quite a bit

Literaly everything he says at the moment is being over analysed on here at the moment because we are doing so poorly but the bloke doesn't help himself sometimes with what he comes out with

Surely he could have worded "I didn't expect things to be much different" in a different way man

Or just not said it at all, and said something like: "We were looking ready to hit the ground running this year and then injuries to key positions like XYZ have hampered that."

What he said was absolutely laughable. Not only is he telling us as fans that SAFC was too big a job for him, he's telling the players they aren't good enough.
