Moyes: I sympathise with the fans

So why on earth should we "expect" sunderland to be where we are, but you expect those clubs to be mid table?

Because they're always above us. That's Moyes point, we've been around the bottom for a good few years, so that's what you'd probably expect to happen again.

He had the chance to resign Mvilla and Yedlin and chose to buy shite. Are you conveniently forgetting all the results in the first nine games FFS

He wanted Mvila. Moyes wouldn't sanction it. Just like he didn't when Allardyce wanted him. Not sure why you keep saying it.

Tony Pulis has never finished below 14th in the premier league.
Because west brom have only finished in the bottom 6 of the premier league once since their return to the top flight since 2010. And have finished as high as 8th.

Stoke have never finished below 14th and have never been higher than 9th.

Sunderland have failed to get 40 points 4 seasons in a row and have been in a relegation fight for the past 5 seasons.

Not many surprises there mate

All of this

So if some of our fans, and even Moyes himself say they expected sunderland to be where they are at this point in season, they must be admitting he is the wrong appointment as he hasn't moved us up a level at all. In fact, he has moved us down a number of levels from our form during the second half of last season.

You're completely missing the point. I Woukd predict City would be up the top, cos that's where they've been the last few seasons. I would expect Stoke to be 9th to 14th as that's where they've been the last few seasons. I would expect us to be in or around the drop zone cos that's where we've been the last few seasons.

That's what Moyes was saying. Not that that was his aim. Don't know why you've struggled with it.

I didn't expect much but I never expected to get only 2 points from 10 games.

I think we all get the point but another example of Moyes just opening his mouth and out comes out. The pundits may think we are shit but come on the manager should have a bit more about him than that.

It's as though he wants his prediction at the beginning if the season to come true.

In fact he's just covering his own back because he knows he's made a bad job of it so far.

He inherited a team that was playing well, winning games and should have been capable of a mid table finish, He oversaw the worse start to PL season ever.
Maybe - though you have to ignore the fact that the team's form peaked at the end of the season, playing teams with nothing left to play for who were simply going through the motions.

Regardless of who is I'm charge then? Is he admitting he can't make a difference?

The main reason they've been above us is better football management. With good management there is no reason we can't perform to that level.

I'm not struggling with anything. There's no reason at all we shouldn't perform to the level as those clubs. Moyes is basically admitting he can't make the difference to push us on even slightly.

People might want better, and I'd find it odd if they didn't, but looking at previous form it's not a surprise to see Sunderland where they are. O'Neill, Di Canio, Poyet, Advocaat, Allardyce, Moyes. What's the one thread that binds them together?
They're all total frauds? (apart from Allardyce like)

He isn't. He is simply saying we are roughly where people expect us to be (if we had another three points, meaning we would be 17th). He is correct too.

Just like most expect Stoke to be mid table and Chelsea at the top. It's called recognising previous seasons to determine the likeliest outcome.

Nothing more.

I didn't expect Sunderland to be bottom of the league. Did you? So Moyes is basically shrugging his shoulders and saying, we were in the bottom 3 last season, so it's nothing to do with me guv.

If me auntie has balls she'd be my uncle.

No I didn't. He didn't think I would expect it either. Hence he said another win and 17th.

Again, you're reading into things thst are there.

What a ridiculous comment. We are discussing where he said people would expect us to be. He said another win and 17th and you pull that comment out as if it's relevant.
