Moyes: I sympathise with the fans

He's actually saying that given the squad he interited which has largely spent its last half a decade in the bottom three, this season we're pretty much bang on form - which is understandable given the injuries - and that there's still hope and plenty of games

Would none of us would expect someone as stupid as you to be able to read properly.

Correct.

Ask anyone outside of Sunderland where they would expect us to be. Theyd all say in a relegation scrap. In the same at we would all say we expect to see the likes of City challenging at the top.

Lot of people on here would be rather upset if come May Moyes keeps us up. He's been kicked to fuck this week for saying what plenty of our fans do, just screams of agenda on here tbh.
That said it does look like the players have stopped fighting for him and if thats the case we are fucked, not just Moyes.

Fans can say what they think. Managers can't echo those same thoughts. I think anyway.

We don't

It shouldn't be the target tho

If Moyes was saying "we're aiming for mid table" he would be rightly laughed off here.

The target for this season is staying up. That's the target Ellis has set. If you have an issue with the target Ellis is the man to talk to, not Moyes.

If Moyes was supported properly he might be aiming for 10th. He hasn't been, so 17th is the target.

Welcome to Ellis' SAFC.

We'll sack Moyes at some point, bring someone in for the last few games of the season, stay up, just, and then next season we'll be aiming for 17th again.

No he isn't. He's saying given previous years this is the norm and things can't change drastically overnight. He doesn't at any point say this is our level.
You're reading stuff into quotes to suit your agenda.

Clever people don't do that. They take words as they find them and assess them on their merits.

Much like how everyone is claiming Allardyce was always in our faces bigging us up, boosting our players up at every opportunity - when fact is, this time last year he was in a sulk blaming the players, sat in the dugout with his arms folded.

And by April he said he was going to walk.

I don't have an agenda

He does marra.

We have been in a relegation battle year after year. Why suddenly do we expect this season to be different?
He inherited a team that was playing well, winning games and should have been capable of a mid table finish, He oversaw the worse start to PL season ever.

I fully expect us to be in a relegation battle every year

Behind Burnley and f***ing Bournemouth

He's a loser

Really Chunky, with the squad in this state and given the competitiveness of the Premier, what else can you expect?
I thought "shit - that's it" - the moment BSA got the call.

Moyes has been dealt a shite hand - we can't judge fairly. Look at Palace with their £30 m centre forward & French international midfielder. There are no bad teams to save us.

Who could do better with this squad?

Just don't know what anyone expects him to do differently. Even without financial backing had the injuries not crippled us I think he'd have sitting around 15th quite comfortably. It feels shit right now but blaming DM is genuinely baffling.
What about going to the owner and saying "look if I cant sign players to keep this team up I'm leaving"

He inherited a shitload of injuries and found himself in a league where there are no bad teams except us and Hull - and the well known financial constraints.

We are down - rebuild is the priority - moaning & groaning will get us nowhere.

It wasn't winning games. It's why despite only losing three times in nineteen games we survived with only a game to spare.

Two of those players were also not ours. Another forced a move. And three have been injured for pretty much all of the season.
