Mowbray

It's perfectly possible to like Mowbray but acknowledge that he's not had a great half time.

They were most dangerous first half down their right hand side, so he then puts Clarke to left wing back. Bizarre.

And what the hell is putting Ba up top about? As soon as the ball went up there it came straight back.

That said, some of the defending was embarrassing. Adil for the first and Clarke for the second.

Its not like. Its poor at home more often than not and the manager is clearly incapable of reacting in game to any sort of issue.
Nah it is. The better team for the first half. Moved it around well even with 10. We’ve got a massive injury list that is hampering our progress and we lost probably the worst player we could lose today. Yeah TM made an error after half time, but that game is not indicative of any structural failure that we can’t overcome. We’re still one of the best 6 sides in the league and we’ll finish playoffs at least. We’ve lost three games at home this season but there’s an asterisk against every single one imo.

That is bang on mate and that was exactly the intention of my thread.

Fair enough nothing he could do about red card but he has to take blame for setting us up like this second half. Embarrassing and inept. Ba upfront on his own whats all that about. Playing an attacking midfielder in CM with 10 men when hes new to the league. Has to take some responsibility
Agree with this mind, trying to play expansive football with 10 men is a silly risk.

The asterisk has been the manager. Wide open and under prepared the first 2 games and he threw the towel in at half time today.

Hes done a good job but I've got as many concerns as ever about his ability to get a promotion.

‘Threw the towel in’ is complete horseshite. He made a change and got it wrong. It happens. That sort of language is just silly. He’s not a tactical genius. He never has been. But he is a great developer of players. The question is whether what we gain from his tenure in terms of how players develop in his care is worth what may go wrong when he has to react in special circumstances as per today. The evidence of his tenure so far would suggest the answer is a fairly emphatic yes imo.

I thought we were all over the shop first half , even before sending off. 2 in midfield were exposed and Hume was awful getting dragged all over. Was just luck their left back had no final product.

If we don't go up this season we will probably lose our 3 best players for a start. They will be replaced but at some point he needs to start looking like a manager who can get a promotion.

I've got no faith in that. Have you?

Who else is he meant to play there like?

People on here don’t like to hear a bad word said about the recruitment team but they left us with two centre midfielders when the transfer window closed and it’s came back to bite us on the arse, with both of them now out which was always going to happen sooner or later
I reckon they weren't banking on three of them being injured at the same time.

The thing is, if Ba had got on the end of one and stuck it away, early in the second half, it would have been classed as a good decision. These decisions have to be made without really knowing how its gonna pan out.

I think Mowbray has been a breath of fresh air, but unfortunately I think his in game tactical ability is extremely limited.
At the end of the day we got beat cos we had 10 men
