Mowbray press conference

Jesus man, this place is a joke at times. The board could not have been any f***ing clearer on how they will approach things. The aim is to grow the club steadily, buying young talent and developing them.

They won't be spunking millions to try and force a promotion, neither will they detract from their model.

A few fannies on a message board throwing their toys out the pram won't change that.
No what they were clear about was that january was going to be targeted signings who would come in an improve the team straight away. It is the shite that comes out now that reaffirms to a lot of fans that they just talk crap.

We’re not going to start paying wages to upset the lads out who got us out of league 1. Is the worst thing from today.

We hope that something is pretty close - there are deals we're negotiating to try and get over the line. We won't break the structures in place to bring someone in on much more than players who have worked really hard to get this club out of League One . Tony Mowbray
If thay is what he has said that is horrendous craic and shows the ambition of the club.

Really not sure what he's said to wrong there. He mentioned the top end of the league, where we aren't challenging top 2 or anywhere near. He also says to compete with teams like Boro and be in and around top 6 teams, which we all agree is where we could be? What's the issue? The club has a strategy and if that gets us top 6 then I'm sure we'll have a right go at it. The attitude and effort from the team in almost every game has been very good. We try to win every game, so what exactly is the problem? Honestly, some of our support on social media platforms really don't help.
Good job it doesn’t translate to the support at the ground.

Do you honestly think I'm after attention from complete strangers on a internet football site with a username after an Oasis album user name whilst getting slagged off by people calling themselves after a duck

😂
Yes I do.

If I remember correctly, you were a decent poster then had a few fairly forthright views on the Coronavirus board that brought you a bit of attention and since then you seem to have had a thirst for it, bringing it to other boards and moulding yourself as a bit of a contrarian.

Well then you are completely incorrect Howard.

Calling someone a dinosaur or journeyman isnt really abuse is it.

I mean the fans have history of confronting mangers outside the SoL calling them a prick or getting upset because Charlie Wyke caller them a divvy. Not to mention the time fans threw beer over Peter Reid.
Calling someone a dinosaur suggests they’re outdated, or not current. I would say it’s at least criticism, if not abuse.

Because he is another journeyman manager that hasnt really done anything worthwhile for years and seems to get jobs like a lot of others in this league regardless.
Do you not see how highly thought of he is by his peers for developing younger players and for playing with attacking intent?

Not quite sure who your expect to be managing us

What do you think the reaction would be if the Man Utd owners said at the start of the season "By the way we're not going to try and get Champions League this year, we want to build slowly and maybe have a go in 2-3 years time"

And before you ask, no I don't want us to spunk millions on overpaid shite.

And yes I'm more than happy with our recruitment of young up and coming players.

They are challenging for CL and have only brought Weghorst in whilst still depending on Mcfred, terrible analogy you have went for there, they are hardlies going all out for CL even though being in a great position for it.

Journeyman? How many managers of his age haven’t managed a few clubs?
In the last 13 years he’s managed 4 clubs, and that’s including us.
Anyway, I asked you how he’s a dinosaur - what has been a journeyman (which he’s not imo), got to do with it?
Really don’t know where you’re coming from.

Depends what exactly the clubs ambition is really,

If we are happy on just being a feeder club for other teams whilst we float around in the Championship for years on end then I guess Mowbray is the man for the job.

He was so highly thought of by his peers that Blackburn let him go,

Just out of interest which managers in the championship are doing a much better job than TM with a squad and budget on a par with ours. ?

He doesn’t want to see anything, and can’t come up with a reasoned argument to back up what he’s saying.
Nothing to see here.

Blackburn let him go
Coventry fans didnt take to him
His hometown club sacked him
Failed to win anything in a two team league with Celtic.
