Moussa Sow

7 pages. In summary:
If we sign him then he's overrated, over priced and no better than what we have
If we don't sign him, then Congerton has failed, the mags have won the transfer window again, Dick will walk due to lack of quality and the cub is fucked.

Pretty much the summary of any signing we make.

I haven't seen Sow enough to comment. I put my faith in Congerton and Dick and so far they have impressed me with the signings they've made.

Like most threads really then

So we sign this lad and drop Defoe Wickham Fletcher and Graham?

Can't see it unless we sell two of the aboveabove

This could be a prediction for every thread on every player linked and it would be true to form every time

f***ing hell people are allowed to have views that vary somewhere between Newcastle's way and Sunderland's way. Like I said, I don't mind if the club gamble on him. I'm just trying to look at a broader picture.

Why would I have negative views about Lens? £8m for a regular dutch international, in his prime, who plays in a position we desperately needed filling is fantastic value.

because just like your argument for Sow... he'll be too old and have no resale value when his contract comes to an end. Surely you apply the same view don't you?

That view of yours is exactly Newcastles view

Sow would offer us flexibility. He can play as a left forward but has played as a main central striker. Lens can play both left and right with great effect.

I'd be very suprised if they're all still here come September. Fletcher would be the most likely to leave as he's a fairly saleable asset and going into the last year of his contract. We wouldn't get much coin for Graham and Advocaat seems to rate Defoe. The anomaly is Wickham - if Advocaat decides he's never going to fulfil his potential and feels he could use the money Wickham's sale would raise to improve the team - he may be tempted to cash in.
