I started with XS last year ... like someone said CBT training in the back of a van!!! What a f***ing joke, the bike I done it on was proper rat old aswell ... had 4 125 lessons then a 500cc lesson. Ran out of fuel twice while out, totally unproffesional. Decided to go with A1 Motorcycle School in Dunston. What a change .... the guy who taught me was called Richie and he a proper legend, funny as owt and a cracking instructor. A1 have a MOD1 mock test set up in their yard which is next door to the gateshead test centre. I would highly recommend them even if it means travelling a bit further!! Bought a CBR600F Sport after I passed, riding is awesome! Done over 5000 miles in my first year .... just watch out for the cars/van/lorrys as they tend not to see you!

Are you me? My mate passed with A1 and said they were spot on as well. Just look for a professional outfit both A1 and NRT have a proper yard and classroom set up - you get what you pay for at the end of the day.

This ^.

I did the full monty at A1 it's next door to the Gateshead Test Centre which is where you will do Mod 1 if your from Tyne & Wear. Richy is spot on and constantly assesses your progress. I passed first time with them as did my mate. Another good thing is that you do your training around the mod 2 test routes so have a clue where all the 20mph zones are.
I passed last year and got a zx6r straight away which I've now sold and got an R6
