MotM vs Tranmere

It certainly helped, Watmore was linking up with him really well but his attitude seemed to change too; he was winning headers, pressing high up the field and just looked like he was trying to score a goal and make a nuisance of himself. He looked a lot more like the player his record suggests he is.
Great news thanks mate. Hopefully we will now get to see more of the player that we bought on a more regular basis. 👍 😎

I thought there were at least three better players on the park than him. Maguire had his best game since I don't remember when. Scored a free kick, had the vision and technique to play the ball through to Watmore for the second, put the ball in for O'Nien's goal.

Last night I put Hume second but it should have been Grigg. Played a lovely ball through for Watmore, got on the scoresheet himself, put tackles in, won a few balls in the air despite having that humongous centre half to deal with, saw more of the ball than Watmore and looked after it better by passing it well, and lasted longer. Grigg had a very good game throughout.

Hume impressed me and gave his most assured performance of the season. Made a number of good tackles, up n down all night, passed the ball relatively well (made over twice as many passes as Watmore and found his man more often) and I thought had an all round decent game.

But again, my initial post here had nothing at all to do with Watmore's performance or what I thought of it. There were 3 players who impressed me more.

So do you still think Watmore is shite ?

The only people that wouldn’t have Watmore in their top 3 would be Someone who had a long term fixed view of the player and is unable to shift from that stance.

Lots of good performances but Watmore for me with Hume getting an honourable mention for a big improvement in his all round game.

Midfield solid industrious and passing it through their back line

Five different scorers all needing the confidence boost.

For me it was Dunc as he just adds that bit of excitement when he gets his head down and runs. Good performance all round, the whole team deserves credit.
He sure does that

Did Watmore luckily find himself in those positions, or did he actually make the intelligent runs so he could be found.

Obviously you have a long standing issue with that lad, but to say he wasn't in the top three performances last night is a bit pathetic tbh.

I dont think a lot of the opinionated on here actually go to the games mate.
Do you still believe he has a promising top flight career ahead of him?
Tedious.

He’s in their top 3 mate?

I would also suggest if they have Grigg so far ahead of everyone else then they weren’t watching that closely.
Yep - he's joint 3rd with O'Nien. So statistically it's safe to say there were 3 players at least as good if not better than him on the pitch, correct? The two that were better I've already mentioned, with Maguire being my personal choice for MOTM.

So I haven't lavished praise on Watmore, so what. Fuckin' hell man.

We had a team full of 7s and 8s for once, which was very pleasing (and something that Bolton fan said Parkinson will give you).

Would it make you feel better if I said he was the 4th bestest? FFS man.

It's the Dunc fan club that are coming across as pathetic. I never even mentioned the lad 'til one of yas twisted.
It wasn't me that brought him up.

So basically to prove your point that at least someone else in the world would also not have his performance in their top 3 you chose a link to an article that had him in their top 3. Canny!
Some people are incapable of judging a players performance in isolation on a given day due to their own preconceptions. You are one of them - it doesn’t make you a bad person just a poor judge.

With three other players as they have him level with O'Nien - who I also didn't have in my top 3.

Nobody's actually asked me if I thought he had a game (I did by the way in case you're wondering) - I've just been rounded upon for having the audacity to pick out three players that weren't him.

Maguire, Grigg, Hume, O'Nien, Power, Willis have all rightly been praised in this thread for their performances last night. Again, it was a team performance full of 7s and 8s. I picked out Maguire 'cos I thought he was the man of the match. As you say though I must be a poor judge as the site has it down as Grigg. I had him 2nd. I gave mention to Hume because as the game wore on I thought he'd had a good night - especially given the scrutiny he's had lately, and if you're that interested in my posts you might realise I've heavily scrutinised our full backs.

No agenda here - just my opinion. You must fuckin' hate Will Grigg if he wasn't in your top 3. (see how silly that sounds?)
